Girl had a pet swan she kept clutched to her most of the book.
Swan fights a civet in a kind of underground animal fighting ring.
Pretty sure a teahouse appears at some point in the book?
Also, I seem to remember something about how on the cover there was a red seal saying "this book is banned" or something? The seal actually had something to do with the plot- wasn't the title, but was somehow relevant.
