Worm (web serial) [January 2019 to October 2019 to End Times]
I would like to know if the story is bomb enough to warrant that much time invested - I’d love some thoughts from y’all who have started it already.

Finished my other audiobook earlier than I expected and started on this.

Everyone is kind of starting at different times. Some people have already started, some starting within the next week or two.

This BR is definitely more fluid than most... symptom of the crazy length...

Yeah, it's not on audible. I'm listening to it on Stitcher at the moment, but check the wordpress link to find more audio versions.

I am as far as through Tangle. Honestly, I think this might be a DNF for me. It's fine so far, but I just don't think I'm interested enough to read 7000 pages of this...
You're quite a bit farther than me... I keep finding other things to read... probably not a good sign... but I haven't even finished Arc 2, yet, so I'll give it more time, when my schedule slows down...

I'd say give it a fair shot and read a couple more arcs before giving up. I just looked at your page count post and realized I had gone through ~600 pages and wasn't loving it. At that point, it's not worth it for me.

I did a bit of my own maths and worked out that as long as I finish arc 4 before the start of February I can just read one "chapter" of an arc a day and it will take me up to about 3 days before October 31st to complete. It doesn't sound too time consuming that way but I suppose it depends on if I remain curious. I think I'll commit to reading Part 1 (as split up by Iain) and then make my decision as to DNFing or not.

No... this book is mostly standalone... the 2nd book is just set in the same world, basically...
But regardless, 7000 pages is a bit commitment if you're not loving it...

Also I was surprised about the quality of the podcast, it's really well done! The Interlude after Arc 2 was a little harder to listen too, I don't know how it was edited, but I had to slow down the reading speed back to normal, as I couldn't understand her otherwise, but the rest was really good so far!

Yea... Rein edited the audio, and does about 50% of the reading, I think...

I was also surprised by the audio quality! It is quite good. But yeah, the interludes were hard to listen to.

Arc 4 (view spoiler)
I like how we see other points of views in the Interludes, the second one of Arc 4, was still a little strange tho 😅

Im still reading. Arc 2.3. I get about 0.2 parts a day. Im liking itt, but dont know yet whether I want to commit to the full shebang!

It seems like every other day Ive decided to give up the serial, but then I find myself reading another section. So I dont know where I stand with this. Btw, Im reading this, not listening.

After a week or so of casually reading, I feel the exact same. It's really not great - from what I've read so far - but it's easy to just push on and read another chapter. Especially during idle periods in work! So I'll probably have this ticking away in the background over the year. I'm tempted to check out the audio, but I think I'll enjoy just breezing through a chapter whenever I have a few spare minutes more.
My biggest problem is finding time to read this... it's such a backburner book, and I have so many Buddy Reads and BR requests on my plate...

Yea, def on the backburner, but yea maybe like Sean said we will finish it by October!!!

I'm just not making enough time to enjoy the story...
Last couple weeks, I've gone from a LitRPG binge to 6 BRs I signed up for or randomly joined because they looked interesting / were on my TBR... then February hit and it was time for a bunch of BRs in the series' I started in January... Servant of the Empire, Muse of Nightmares, Metaframe War (weekly)... now I got a bunch of new releases coming out tomorrow, and am looking to binge some Kurtherian Gambit books with Choko, now that she's caught up... it's always something...
I'm just as bad at making time for TV/Movies...

The Amazing Adventures of Gloryhole & Cockblocker... lol
I listened to Arc 3... the decision not to edit out the throat clearing and re-reads the 2 times the narrator's throat got dry / mispronounced, was interesting... but otherwise decent narration...

Honestly, I could not read his name any other way.

You all still padding along?

I really liked the Bonus interlude of Arc 8 (view spoiler) At first I was a little confused because it was placed between 8.2 and 8.3 and not at the end as the other interludes, but it makes sense to read it between those two chapters. (view spoiler)
Starting Arc 9 I was surprised (view spoiler) Sadly the audioquality of the Interludes and Parts with different POVs is pretty bad most of the time, I settled to read them instead...

You’re so far ahead!
I just finished 5.4. (view spoiler)

Now I just need some time to go back and read everyone’s comments.

It's maybe because I'm really enjoying it :) I'm actually trying to go slow for everyone to catch up a little, but it doesn't seem to work 😅
