Steven Card (steven_card) | 3 comments Discription of the book cover:
On the book cover, the two main characters are running on a dirt packed road through an old Western town. The man is looking back while the girl character, disguised as a boy, catches up just behind him. Mainly warmer colors are used for the book cover.

Plot Details:
In the beginning of the story, most of the details are sparse, but the girl runs away or something to that effect disguised as a boy. She is a teen, but lies about her age so she isn't noticed.

She then meets up with a man that is slightly older than her and is also on the run or trying to get somewhere. He has black hair and some stubble. He does not know that the boy that is on the run with him is the female main character.

Later they get to a town and she can finally bathe in some hot water at the inn. She undoes her bindings and is in the tub for quite a time (who wouldn't be). The man knocks on the door and calls to get ready, she is surprised and somewhat scared that she will be found out, so lies a little to stall for time and dresses hastily, but makes sure she can still look like a boy.

After this, she is later found out, either through: injury, she bathed too well, the male character becomes suspicious, or another variation of this. It is also revealed that she falls for this man (before being found out) and truly wishes to save him from his flight as he is a generally good man fallen on misfortune.

Additional info/remarks:
That's all I can remember about the general plot, but I hope it works out.

This book I read in late elementary/early middle school from the years ~2007--2012

It was a school book that was required for reading in your off time.

Steven ~~
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 173 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
