Koham | 4 comments Hello everyone :)

I am a huge fan of adult PNR, particularly with vampires & wolves. I have been craving a book with a hot/steamy romance preferably between an Alpha wolf/vampire hero and a virgin heroine (either human or from a wolf pack) with a "forced mating" theme where two individuals are forced to mate with each other for political or other reasons.

I'm not sure if such a storyline exists yet, but I would like if the heroine ends up falling for the hero first and there is this angst going on between them with the heroine being sad with the hero not liking her and strictly maintaining the silent relationship between them, and wanting nothing to do with her (essentially falls in love with her later). I don't want the heroine to be too dumb but more of a virgin, smart but not too much of a spitfire and who doesn't have any sexual experience which makes the hero become more possessive of her of and view her as naive/innocent. I love a little angst.

Or, a forced mating theme with the heroine hating the hero but fearing him at the same time due to his Alpha position (for instance in a wolf pack) and him acting as the "You are mine and I will kill anyone else who comes near you" type lol.

Any recommendations for this story line (or anything close to it) would be greatly appreciated! As mentioned, I would of course love to read something on vampires or wolf packs but I'm also open to reading anything in the paranormal romance genre (warriors, shifters, Alpha males with supernatural powers - as long as it's not angels or ghosts)

I also wanted to mention that a similar storyline, which I have read was in The Mating (Law of the Lycans #3)
by Nicky Charles. It was good but the heroine came out to be too dumb for my liking.

Thank you so much in advance :)

Waffle Monarch | 59 comments Despite how specific you are being, this all happens to be really standard fare. Almost every PNR book features that sort of alpha male, and therefore almost every PNR book has at least a moment of that sort of "you mine now drag into cave and beat over head with club before sex whether you want it or not borderline rape" scenario.

If you're looking for that, AND you wan't a heroine who isn't dumb you're gonna have a bad time because, by definition, a woman has got to be dumb as hell to stick around for that sort of bullshit.

But I do happen to know of a book that fits your criteria off the top of my head.

Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright. Sorry, I never learned how to do book links on this site.

Koham | 4 comments I've heard of Feral Sins, I'm going to give it a try. Thank you for your suggestion :)

I'll continue looking out for other suggestions as well.

I don't think however that every PNR has that borderline rape scenario necessarily, although I personally don't mind it because that's what gives PNR that sexy feeling with the overly possessive males. But that's just my opinion, I'm a hardcore PNR fan :P

No worries about the link issue ^_^

Patricia | 13 comments I loved Feral Sins... The heat factor was five out of five peppers for me lol , and I thought it was hilarious too. I would suddenly laugh out loud out of nowhere and my hubby would look at me like "what's wrong with you woman?" . So for me , this book was FUNNY when it had to be and had a great amount of STEAMY scenes when appropriate .....

"Just give me a second.Attempting to give a f*ck..... Attempting harder to give a f*ck...sorry, f*ck....Sorry , there was an error.F*ck not given."

Also , " I hope you're not gonna make a habit of talking out of your ass because liars go to hell."

Anyways , sentences like this . It just made me laugh and lifted my spirits .

Koham | 4 comments Hey Patricia!

I was actually checking out some quotes from Feral Sins too and I have to say that I looove the sarcastic humour and the lead heroine! I'm definitely putting that book in my to-read list.

For sure, it'll be awesome if you could share your favs :)

Patricia | 13 comments I don't know if you know about these but they're pretty popular . Always read the blurbs to double check whether you're interested or not. These heroes are not dumb but they're pure alpha yummyness .

Victoria Dannan- Black Swan series, please read in order! This is one of my favorite PNR series.

Evangeline Anderson -Crimson Debt and Scarlet Heat for PNR , you might also wanna check in the future her Brides of the Kindred series(these are sci-fi/erotica/romance) .The first four are my favorites because after that the series gets repetitive and book 11 was kind of ... recycled.Book 12 comes out tomorrow and even though I said 11 was "recycled" I HAVE to get #12 just 'cuz I love the damned kindred...

Kym Grosso- Tristan's Lyceum Wolves and all the books in the series( they're THAT good).Wolf shifters and vampires. Oh and start with ,Kade's Dark Embrace if you want the hero to be vampire.

Kresley Cole - Lothaire . I haven't read it but it's got great reviews and it's on my list.

Laurahnn Dohnner (not sure of the spelling here)- Zorn Warriors series. Out of all the books I put here , these resemble the hero you're looking for the most. It's a series and there's 4 books so far , if I'm not mistaken. But I also liked them just fine. She has a series called New Species and another series called cyborg seduction - not PNR but hot alphas nonetheless and I liked them even better than Zorn Warriors.

Sorry for not putting up more suggestions but my kindle library is insanely freaking full and some of them I know are PNR but if I don't remember what the book was about that means they sucked

Patricia | 13 comments I'd love to hear other recommendations for PNR too. Please call me out if I mixed up authors or series lol.

Lady Echo (ladyecho) | 2 comments Secrets Volume 6 (Secrets Volume, #6; Wyndham Werwolf, #1) by Angela Knight Secrets: Volume 6

This was an anthology; I only read Love's Prisoner, though, by MaryJanice Davidson. It's about a werewolf who finds himself trapped on an elevator under a full moon with a woman who is ovulating. There is forced mating, but done about as well as I've ever seen it done. The heroine isn't a virgin, but she isn't an idiot either.

Highly recommend. If you check it out, let me know what you thought.

Carolyn F. Lora Leigh's Breed book are like that.

Kresley Cole's Imortals After Dark series is a favorite of mine. Sassy female characters, alpha males, matings that have lots of drama. Each time I read one, I think it's my favorite! Just read
Dark Skye (Immortals After Dark #14) by Kresley Cole . It was so good. Fated mates and warring families...it was an adventure. It stands alone but I totally suggest reading in order for the world building.

Rebecca (wolfgirlbec) | 12 comments Laurann Dohner is my fave pnr author! especially her new species series! So hot! lol.I'd also recommend the Darkyn series by Lynn Viehl ,just to name a few. Hope that helps a bit & happy reading!

message 14: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Ruggiero | 2 comments I recommend Lora Leigh's Breed series...not exactly shifters but I found the first books in the series extremely hot and the males are definitely Alpha...I haven't read any of her more recent ones...they are on my to do list though! Some of the scenes are borderline forced sex...the mating chemical sometimes leaves them no choice regardless if they want to have sex or not.
