Recommends it for: Fans of werewolf stories who don't mind forced seduction
I read the MaryJanice Davidson story and maybe the Alice Gaines story. Neither had anal in it, so I was okay. I loved the MaryJanice Davidson story, "Love's Prisoner." It has forced seduction in it, so it's not everyone's cup of tea. The hero is the alpha of the Wyndham pack, Michael. He gets trapped in an elevator with a woman who is ovulating, and it's near a full moon. He cannot resist the urge to mate with her. It was the first story I read with this theme and I was blown away. He felt bad a ...more

Flint's Fuse by Sandra Fraser
Dana Madison is kidnapped at the request of her father. Her father is working on a big corporate deal and he receives intel that his daughter might get caught in the crossfire. So her father has a mercenary named Flint steal into her bedroom and drag her off into the desert for her own protection.

*drops head on table* This was boring, stupid and a waste of my time. Hey, I like a Stockholm Syndrome type story as much as the next girl, but this was just baaad. How ca

Only read MaryJanice Davidson's "Love's Prisoner" 'cause I'm reading through the Betsy series. Kind of disturbed right now. Why the hell are y'all calling it "forced seduction", exactly? It's rape. Literally, the hero rapes the heroine. Multiple times. At first because he apparently can't help himself - as that's werewolf nature, folks! Then to ostensibly keep her from running to a dangerous enemy. Words can't describe... But you know what, fuck it, guys, plenty of people get off on rape fantasi ...more

I had seen the Wyndam characters in Davidson's other stories and was curious about their origins. Wrap it up however you like, Davidson has romanticized rape and kidnapping. I am so disappointed.

Okay, so this is my very first review of a compilation of short stories, but I had to let everyone know what a fantastic book this is, especially since my husband found it lying in the middle of the highway and picked it up for me.
Flint's Fuse by Sandy Fraser is the yummy story of a rich influential man's daughter and the man he hired to kidnap her. Yes, her father had her kidnapped, for her own good. Evidently there are some very bad men who might use her as a pawn and knowing that his daughte

OK, I will admit right now that I realize I am not a fan of anthologies. I can’t understand why, other than OCD, that I buy anthologies and read them. I already know that I’m probably not going to enjoy it. I also have issues with the stories themselves. Frequently they are side stories to other stories. The reason I’m mentioning this as a negative is that I’m reading a side plot of a story I’m not familiar with. Frequently I’ve discovered that an author has not done a good job making it a stand ...more

"Flint's Fuse" - 3 stars. I didn't buy the love story, there were really no grounds for love, but the sexual tension was good. The heroine is a spoiled rich girl who secretly longed for a man to master her and she meets him in the person of her kidnapper (who isn't really a kidnapper). He doesn't really share anything about himself with her. So why does she supposedly falls for him? Ask the author.

"Love's Prisoner" - 4.5 stars. Mary Janice is good. The story had a great start and the elevator sce

LOVE'S PRISONER. 3.5 stars.
I have owned most of the first books in this series for ages and read them every now and then and though I love the book I still can’t get past the fact that a forced seduction (technically rape) happens twice in this book.
I can understand the basis for what happens in the lift but not the punishment time.
I understand that Michaels culture does not apply to human reasoning but he is traumatising Jeannie.
What makes this even worse is I really do love the characters in

Anthology I didn't read all of the stories, just the Mary Janice Davidson and the Angela Knight. I liked Davidson's story more but Knight's story was better than average. Worth a read just for those two. Average is 4 stars.

Love's Prisoner by Mary Janice Davidson: Loved this story. I've found I have an affinity with sexual encounters in elevators, which this story has. Loved how the heroine fights her feelings saying what she kind of means but in parentheses what she wishes she could say. Very g

Recommends it for: any erotic romance lovers out there.
Described as The best in Women's Erotic Romance, I'll agree to that!

Reading Flint's Fuse, I wasn't sure what to make of it. How can two people fall in love one only one does all the talking? Honestly? Dana was getting on my nerves like you wouldn't believe. While she constantly fought to get way from Flint, I found her to be shallow and whiny. By the end of the story, I can easily say that the lust between them was strong, but I can't say that I believe the characters would be together forever.

I'm not thrilled with this book but I have to admit intrigued me. the plot was interesting I dontthink I've ever read a book where the vamp was a part of secret services type organizations. however the flaws greatly outweighed that. the heroine was a self proclaimed feminist who feels guilty about having sex. that makes her less attractive because its hard to tell what she's saying no to because she's really saying no or what she's saying no to because she's ashamed of what she wants. the hero i ...more

MaryJanice Davidson's Love's Prisoner:

Davidson is a new-to-me author, but if her other books are as good as this one, I'll be buying many more of them. Given that this story is in an anthology, and therefore not novel length, Davidson does an impressive job, in a short amount of time, of creating both fully formed and thoroughly engaging main characters and minor characters in a werewolf pack. I will admit that I have a soft spot for stories with a feisty heroine and a smitten hero, so this stor

Stars: 4

Overall: I don't think I'll ever look at an elevator the same ever again and i'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet. So let me start by saying that I LOVED the idea for this book and the characters, but the plot went by a little to fast for me. In a matter or 48 to 72 hours, she is already in love and it appears as if they are going to have their happily ever after. I just wished that the story could've slowed dow

This is one of the better ones I've read. The MaryJanice Davidson story is a Wyndham Werewolf story about the pack leader Michael finding his mate under EXTREMELY difficult circumstances, the Angela Knight story is introduced as 'I was watching James Bond do something impossible in one of his movies and I thought - this would be a lot more believable if he was a vampire... Read MJD's short, Love's Prisoner (thanks, new_user!), which focuses on alpha Michael Wyndham finding his mate. It's a forced seduction theme, which MJD handles pretty well. I understood Jeannie's outrage, but also sympathized with Michael's situation. The trademark humor was there, but this has a lot more steam than the typical Betsy-verse story...and I liked it. Maybe Betsy and Sinclair should start getting this explicit!

Something Flint (I can't really remember the first story's name) :(
Love's Prisoner :\ (at least it was funny, but Davidson tends to be unnecessarily graphic when doing these short story anthologies. At least I'm up to date on the werewolf series now and some characters and references to events in the later stories make sense now.)
The Education of Miss Felicity Wells :(
A Candidate for the Kiss :(

The others were poorly written, cliche and kind of literary porn.

I enjoyed Angela Knight's story but the others were a little squicky. It's hard to hard to pull off the kidnapping/dubious consent (or in at least one of these story flat out rape) equals love stories and make it seem convincing. And that is in a full length novel. Short stories have it harder. I personally didn't think most of these stories made it work.

Four erotic stories explore four fantasies - the bodyguard, the werewolf, the tutor, and the vampire. My favorite is the vampire - he's also a secret agent who's been serving the United States for 300 years, and he's finally met the one woman who could share his future and ease his loneliness - if she'll agree to become a vampire as well.

if you want sultry and steamy, this is the book for you. four short stories, four devastatingly handsome men that will leave you panting with each turn of the page. one's a kidnapping, the other's a wereworlf story, then a short period story, and last but most definitely not least, a vampire one. if you like erotica with a huge dose of love, you've got to read this book. :)

Finally got the start of The Wyndham Werewolf series! I love MJ's character; they're always strong in themselves and unafraid of standing up for themselves.

Sandy Fraser's Flint's Fuse was a good one!

Alice Gaine's Education of Miss Felicity Wells was a fiery mix of sex and late-19th/early 20th century mores.

Angela Knight's Candidate for the Kiss was hot.

Just read the werewolf story - liked it a lot. The thing that attracts me to this author is that the dialogue is roll-on-the-floor-funny! I can overlook a lot of things if the repartee is snappy and the hero and heroine are well-matched.
