Sarah

for you i have 2 choices..
half bad by sally green
the witches kiss by katherine corr
Happy Reading!!

I read both "How I live Now" and "Ember" (though the "X" version, as Jessica Sorensen is a much better NA author, than YA)
I enjoyed "How I Live Now"... Mostly because it was refreshing in it's "ignorance is bliss" personification. The writing style was a bit hard to follow, and there really wasn't a clear beginning, middle (aka climax), and ending (aka resolution). But it felt more realistic and believable than many apocalypse-themed books.
I really enjoyed "Ember X"... In true Jessica Sorensen style- it was coming-of-age meets dark fantasy. As I get older, the teeny-boppers characters don't interest me as much. (A "been there, grown out of the drama" thing)
But always love a great "good vs evil/ light vs dark" read with a leading lady stuck in the middle. Plus the characters in "Ember X" are more relatable- as they're all just as messed up as the rest of us (if not more so) ;-)
On to "Blood Red Road"! Thank you again for the picks! I hope you're enjoying yours :-)

Like the name implies, those who participate in this monthly challenge will have a book selected for them by a partner. Partners will be randomly paired up. You will choose a book for your partner from their to read list (TBR), and they will choose one for you from your TBR list.
Once you have picked the book, come back to this thread and post what book you have chose for your partner. Also send a message to the person with the name of the book you have selected for them. Then when you're done with your book, come back to this thread and post your opinion so we know you have completed the challenge.
For this challenge, you need to either HAVE YOUR PROFILE SET TO PUBLIC (preferable) or make the person you're paired with your friend. I strongly advise keeping your bookshelves updated, otherwise you might end up with a recommendation for something that you've already read.
Sign up period will remain open until January 28 and you'll have until February 1 to make a selection for your partner.
