Vfc | 49 comments I cannot remember the year (5 years ago) and I might possibly be confusing two different books. I recall the h lives a reclusive existence to maintain her privacy. They or she owns and dwells on a remote gated property; she might share the property with a friend or sister with access to a target practice range on their vast shared property.

Their home has state-of-the art technology, cameras, motion detectors, weapons, etc. They are prepared to defend themselves.

Her friend or sister is a computer expert. . Her presence catches the attention of the local law enforcement yet he cannot seem to find much background or history before her recent move to the town which triggers his curiosity. On an occasion he drops in unannounced.

His unconventional mother decides to introduce herself by befriending her. I get the feeling they need to maintain a low profile until the threat is resolved in an effort to remain undetected.
