I read this in probably the early-mid 90s and I feel like it was a relatively recently published book (although I could be wrong).
I think there was paranormal stuff in it - the main character was a ?teen girl called Cassandra / Cassie who was the 7th child/daughter of a 7th child/daughter and as a result had psychic powers?
