I was super invested but also a little overwhelmed (view spoiler)[There were SO MANY PEOPLE! I was enjoying the first few chapters but also struggled to remember all of their connections or their ages. I think that theory was such a good one to get so early. I really enjoyed her character, she was one of the ones with the most layers to peel back. (view spoiler)[Her disappearance seemed inevitable and yet took me by surprise somehow. (hide spoiler)]

Overall (view spoiler)[I thought this was a strong mystery and it sucked me straight in, like McManus always manages to do. The missing girls in the past and the present, the dead science teacher, and the fact that the twins were new to town but with older connections to it that kept recurring, was initially a little overwhelming though. At first (view spoiler)[some of the characters felt a little cliched, like they were actual characters and not real people, but this quickly changed as we started to learn more about the secrets they were hiding and the tangled lines connecting them to all the others in town.

I was sure Malcolm was innocent throughout this and I'm glad his name was cleared by the end. I was so shocked by the reveal that it was his step-dad behind the attacks though!! (hide spoiler)]
