message 259: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Nope, I was lucky ... or forewarned. I read book 4 after about a month then was able to move on to book 5 in less than a week. I just remember thinking "Thank God I don't have to wait like a lot of people had too."

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Finished my 5th pick Darkness Awakened (Order of the Blade, #1) by Stephanie Rowe -it was ok/good. Not sure if I will conintue with the series though. On to #6??

Lol...I am lucky, my boss is out of the office so I get to read more than usual! ;)

Finished my 5th book last night...it was new to me and, although I wasn't blown away, I am excited to see how the story continues! The story seemed to be a bit slow and stilted, but once the characters stories started to unfold it picked up.

Finished my 6th pick Truth (Consequences, #2) by Aleatha Romig -didn't know if I was going to get to this one...the first one was very disturbing to me. But this one (IMHO) was great!!

My 7th pick comes out next week so I will try to get to it!!

Thanks again for the awesome picks!!

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Elke,
I've finished two picks so far and currently reading 2 more.
I enjoyed Magic Bleeds so much that I also read Magic Slays after that. I think Magic Bleeds was the best book in the series-so far.
I also finished Trying to Score earlier in the month and it was good, although the heroine was so irritating that I had the urge to slap her every other page! I like this series though and I'm going to continue it.
Currently reading BAMF and Ready Player One

message 281: by Sassafrass (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4195 comments Hey Dee! Here are the picks I've finished this month:

Secrets on the Sand--this was cute but too short. Also, I will go back and start from the beginning because it was obvious although this was the first in the Billionaires of Barefoot Bay series, there was a lot of backstory that I was not privy too. There's another series, Barefoot Bay, I think will give me that. I think I will look into getting some of those books from the library.

On the Surface--this was cute. I really liked the way the H/h met, but the heroine annoyed me with her "perfect ideal" crap. She was way too smart to be that stupid. I'm glad she got her act together.

The Rosie Project--I'm so glad I got to this. Absolutely Brilliant! I loved every second of it, from the uncomfortable to the over the top. I can't wait for the next book!

Lead--I'm in love with this series. I can't believe the author got me to like Jimmy! I've hated him so far. But this book really turned his character around for me.

Poster Boy--what a wacky bunch of Bros, huh? OMG, this was way over the top. The trouble these boys found themselves in was just way too much for me. But, Toby and Jock were cuties. I'm glad Jock was able to get over his issues because I thought I was going to have to slap him. LOL

I may see if I can get another one in there. We'll see.

i'm glad you enjoyed it, grace. i liked it, too. it was a little different for a shifter story, and that made it more interesting to me.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments zara, i just finished The Notebook, and while i enjoyed it, and thought the writing was solid, it didn't have the emotional impact that i thought it would. thanks for the pick.

~KarenH~ | 11416 comments Macwolf01[Elise]:

It's been a crazy month so I'm just now finally getting around to reporting back in, but I managed to read four of your picks this month:

It's in His Kiss - I love Jill Shalvis, and as usual she didn't disappoint me.
The Mane Squeeze - I've enjoyed this series, but this one just didn't quite live up to the others...not bad, just not as entertaining as the previous books.
Halfway There and Midnight Shadows - both short, sweet "between the books" novellas from series that I enjoy. Not as much appeal as a full-length novel, but good for what they were.

Thanks for the great picks this month!
