3.) Ruin and Rising
4.) The Silent Shield
5.) The Forsaken Throne

Farseer was a decent read and I enjoyed them. But omg tawny man rocked my world. My advice is enjoy the first trilogy for what it is, but keep reading. :)

Hey, at least you only carried over one book :D I won't get points for two of my books 😅

Noted! I've also heard the last few books of the entire Realm of the Elderlings tug at the heartstrings and I'm intrigued so I guess I'm in for the long haul :D

message 16: by Virginie (new)

Virginie | 6109 comments Oh yes, prepare your tissues for those last books!
Hobb's strenght is characterization; by the time you reach the last trilogy, you have already read more than 10 books in that universe. You have followed some characters from childhood. To that emotional baggage, add the fact she improved A LOT as an author and you've got books that will probably break your heart. Multiple times.

I still have all the feels for everything I’ve read... even YEARS later.

Haha I have cheated slightly on that score. I was only about 100 pages into The Dragon Reborn but hadn't touched it in about 6 weeks since epic complicated fantasy was not wgat I wanted to read at the moment and I was starting to forget so I put it back on my bookshelf and I'll restart it from scratch in the next few months, that way I can get points for the whole 650 page book 😉

message 22: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2150 comments Hit my target of 5 books for the month. I’ll have at least one more because of a BR. Have a few books out from library and Hoopla to finish for rest of the month.

I’m having a book prioritizing conflict, but I at least brought back my 5 for 1 challenge to encourage me to read more from my owned stuff. Nothing motivates like the threat of no new books lol.

Hailee | 2762 comments OK here is the progress I made this month on my list:

Carry Over from 2018
1. The Order of the Scales

Books that will count towards the team challenge
2. A Cat Called Birmingham 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
3. In the Arms of Mr. Darcy 🌟🌟🌟
4. The Dragon Reborn 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
5. The Boy Who Wept Blood 🌟🌟🌟🌟
6. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
7. The Girl on the Liar's Throne

Finished: 6/7

I'm pretty pleased with that since I wasn't really expecting to get to Girl on the Liar's Throne this month. I just added it on the off chance. I did also read Take Me Again 🌟🌟🌟 though so I did read 7 books this month.

Anni | 5066 comments Well done Hailee! :)

I finished 8/10 of my planned books, plus The Glass Magician and The Master Magician :) I'm happy with my reading this month!

message 29: by Kathrine (new)

Kathrine | 1249 comments Well done, Hailee and Anni :D

I finished all my planned books, plus read a few more unplanned. January's been my best ever reading month, just this month I've read 25% of my entire 2018 # of pages read. I doubt I'll be able to keep up that pace in the upcoming months D:

Hailee | 2762 comments You both did amazing!!

Katherine, I had months like that as well last year and for me I found that the next month was probably just going to be average for me but I just took the good months where they came and enjoyed them 😁

Wow, well done! You shouldn't feel like you need to keep up the pace, in the end it will only stress you out...

Thank you. I know, I can already feel the pressure D: I've decided I won't push myself to read if I don't feel like it, because it'll just suck the enjoyment out of reading...

I read 3/5 with two more in the currently reading status. I am extremely pleased with myself haha.

I finally finished a massive project at work and got caught up with smaller things, so I’ll have time next week to get a new thread for this up and do some maintenance. Great job on your challenge this month, peeps! :)

Anni I know how you feel. Each day I keep thinking of new books to put on my TBR for February 😬
