Jan | 21010 comments Thanks for the update Teri. I really need to read one of her books. I own the audio of The Masqueraders. I should get to it sooner than later.

Not my favorite, but you may like it. She writes straight romance - my least favorite; mysteries that I really love; and then books like this that fall in between, which I like, too. But most people love her romances the most, so I'm weird there. :)

Jan | 21010 comments What are your top 5 favorites of her books?

Teri-K | 1279 comments Jan wrote: "What are your top 5 favorites of her books?"

I realized I forgot her humorous romances, which I adore! It's her non-amusing historical romances I generally don't care for.

If you're wanting to try her straight (humorous) romances, my all time favorite is The Grand Sophy. Also right at the top, and perhaps my favorites while I'm reading them, are The Unknown Ajax and Frederica. Also, the Talisman Ring is a good, silly French farce-type book. I've reread all of these many times with great pleasure. I'd suggest you start with whichever one sounds the most interesting to you.

I give all of her mysteries either 4 or 5 stars, except for Penhallow, which I don't like at all. Mysteries were my introduction to Heyer, for years they were all I read of her, and again I'd say start with whatever sounds good to you. My first was Footsteps in the Dark, which I still really enjoy. The mysteries are contemporaries, by the way, though they feel nicely old-fashioned now.

If you like GR read alongs, the Georgette Heyer group will be doing Detection Unlimited, which I gave 4 stars, in September.

My Mistake. I did read and finish both books, I posted the wrong one here. Should have been Murder at Blackburn Hall (High Society Lady Detective #2) by Sara Rosett for U. Sorry!

That was my first book by Raybourne. I enjoyed it and will definitely read more. I'll have to check out the series you mention.

Teri-K | 1279 comments Jan - at 25% in I decided my W book wasn't holding my attention at all, and stopped reading it. Would you accept W for William Shakespeare with Characters of Shakespeare's Plays by William Hazlitt ?

If you don't care for that can you just keep it open for me until I find another book with a woman on it? I'm sure it won't be hard.

Yes LOL But at least I can cross that series off my list :)
I edited my comment above, because I mixed up two disappointing books I've recently finished. The two annoying sisters were in a different book, but the three friends in Digging Up Trouble were almost as annoying :)
