Loved it! Seeking out her other books now"

Thanks for your comment Betsy. Did the character's irritating features make the story more compelling or more of a turn-off for you.

Loved it! Seeking out her other books now"
Hi Icewineanne,
Glad you loved the book, but what stood out for you?

Not-so-good point: The story seems to try too hard at mystery. Hey, we've got four big questions lingering in the air...let's add four more! We're 28 chapters in, maybe you think we should answer some of those? Nope! More to add still!
I don't remember all the up-in-the-air plot elements now, and I'm not even close to finished. Maybe this isn't the best place for such a comment, but it definitely stood out to me.

Great suspense. What stood out for me was the author's ability to make me feel sympathy for a character I should have disliked intensely. Well done!

From world builder extraordinaire, Kelley Armstrong's Watcher in the Woods https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Standout aspect- The little Yukon town of Rockton, the myriad characters who are almost never as they seem. And the Killer rabbits. Maybe.
For what it's worth, I rate this in my top five series.

I feel like I have such an investment in the characters. This is book 2. The first, Dead Girl Running, is one I also adore.
I'm also a fan of good plotting. Romantic suspense with the emphasis on suspense/thriller.

White excels in her settings and her intricate stories.

Big White Lies by Jay Darby. His first novel with the main character Dan Porter. It's set in Australia and amazingly good for a first time writer. It drew me in from the beginning.

Excellent co-ordination of the different layers of the story and integration of the different characters into the different areas of Harry Hole's very flawed life."
