FAQ's
How many pages (or hours for audiobook) need to be remaining in a book for it to count?
Books started before the read-a-thon, with at least 100 pages left can be counted toward the game.
Non-snowflake tasks cannot overlap with each other, but can snowflake tasks only overlap with each other?
The snowflake tasks can be overlapped with non-snowflake tasks.
For the "Complete every Read-A-Thon game", is that just one person completing all of them? Or at least one person from the team participating in every one of them?
At least one person from the team must participate in each game. All team members do not need to complete all games.
Which day-one games count towards "Complete Every Read-A-Thon Game"?
Only the Kick-off post. All others (Bingo, Miles of Pages, Progress Post, and Completed Books) are separate activities or ways to track the read-a-thon.
For a book that is being counted for audio hours, can we also count the pages covered?
Books can be counted for either audio hours or pages, not both. If you've filled your audio requirement, you can convert the rest of the audiobook to pages read & use it for pages.
Theres an 8 book/participant max towards the 40 books task, but if we read past 8 books can those extra books still count for other tasks?
You can count your ninth book toward one of the other tasks.
How do we count the pages in the "read 500/1000/2500 pages total"?
The pages read are progressive/cumulative. For example, if you have read 100 pages, each box would have 100. If you read 300, you would have 100, 200, 300.

Team threads will be posted shortly :)
Team leaders will be in charge of tallying the group progress, likely using Emily's spreadsheet ;)
I will post the main thread and update the team boards every morning, using the tallies supplied by the team leader.
i.e. If the team leader says square 1 is complete, I will remove it.

I just laid down in bed for sleep when I saw this! Now I want to get back up and start spreadsheeting haha! I’ll put together a template in the morning that each group can use, if they want.
Note:
I have left the level of difficulty very similar to that of the previous read-a-thon. I know many team finished early and required a second board during the previous activity. But it is very unclear how much people will get read due to the holidays. So we will definitely add additional boards if need be.

Working on the spreadsheet now. Laura, for clarity, if we add a second board, could we continue on with numbering the prompts. For example, instead of having a board that is 1-24, and then a second board that is 1-24, could we just start with 25 for the second board?
Here's the link to Group 4's spreadsheet, if anyone wants to copy it over!

Sabrina wrote: "What does the "read a book with a character born before 2019" mean exactly? Isn't that just any character that's not a baby or isn't in a futuristic dystopian?"
Thank you for catching that Sabrina. I was very sleepy last night when I was finishing things up.
It is after 2000. So a child main character :)

In the dedicated thread for each time. For you, that would be team 3. I’m away from my computer but it should be titled “Team 3 Discussion Thread”

It's my first time, obviously. I want to be a good team leader. :-)

There is a second grid... lurking out there and last time our team went through two grids. Having a second book to fill in on that grid could come in handy. I would say books completed and pages read count whether or not they fit one of the "unique" tasks.
I completed the "Kick-off" task.

Also, in cases where a book could count for more than one task (blue cover and something else) and the something else is a task uncompleted, you may want to move the books around to optimize what is checked off.
No, we didn’t :( I had the intention but the holiday got the best of me. There will be one posted later today and then for the rest of the read-a-thon.
For those of you who participated in the third read-a-thon, this one will look familiar. For those who didn't, here's a brief introduction:
Your team will work together to complete the various challenge tasks, listed below. As you check off a square, it will be removed to reveal a portion of a popular book cover. The object of the game is to reveal all the covers and then guess the link between the covers. Technically, a book cover is complete once you are able to guess the book that the cover belongs to. But it's a little extra challenge to reveal the entire board.
Note: Tasks with a ❄️can be overlapped with the other tasks
