Will Once - somewhere and back again
I've read the opening few paragraphs and I like it. It flows lovely. I'm not going to read it all though, because I have the first book waiting on my kindle.
It would probably be best to read the first one first. I've tried to write the sequel so that it could be read in either order, but really it ought to be Tea first.Feels a little bit odd writing as a woman. It almost felt as if I was putting silk next to me skin. A little bit ... ahem ... kinky.

The secret connection between Top Gear and Leonardo da Vinci. No, really. You couldn't make this stuff up.https://willonce.wordpress.com/2016/0...
Been busy. Work stuff, writing, family ... it's all getting a bit hectic.Sounds like you're having a great holiday.
It's lovely here, Will. You really should consider it as a holiday destination.
This time of year is best, before the hoards descend. Perfect time to bring the BBITW, during spring holiday. He wouldn't be bored. The wifi is excellent. :D
Tempting. We're planning on a Yorkshire walking holiday this summer and USA for the eclipse next year. We're conscious that the BBITW is 15 so we might not have too many holidays left as a family before he starts doing his own thing. But a spring holiday sounds just the job.
I'm shocked that you implied the DM is a wind up merchant.I read all their stuff as gospel.
By the way, I'm loving encountering your feminine side. So far, anyway. I've only just started the journey.
That would be great, thanks. Are you okay? It sounded as if you and Dave had a difficult time there. Not the end to a holiday that any of us want.
You're a sweetie. We're okay, thanks.Yeah, it was a pretty shitty end to the holiday. Literally.
We've managed to deal with worse, though. At least it wasn't both of us. And getting medicine was easy. And we had a proper bog and shower with plenty of water. Clean towels.
The stories I could tell you of being ill in India and Africa would curl your hair.
I've been called in to work.Hopefully I'll have the energy to send you the notes this evening.
Or I'll just flop on the couch.
I'm so tired!

Don't they realize most vacationers need some time off after? It's supposed to be restful and refreshing to take time off - do we need to ruin it the minute people get home?
Why are so many celebs dying in 2016?It's probably not what you think.

Read it many years ago. I vaguely recall that it seemed to be a great idea but dragged a bit towards the end. Can't remember if I finished it or not.
A blog, a blog, my kingdom for a blog! Haven't done one of these for ages. So here's my take on the Ken Livingstone anti-Semitic thing. With a bit of Donald Trump, Leicester City and writing thrown in for good measure.https://willonce.wordpress.com/2016/0...
Sorry about that. You ought to know by now that I sometimes flip between humour and deep shit. And sometimes deep humorous shit.
I read the new one you've not posted a link for here yet as well.Have you seen anything about the comedians refusing to perform in colleges in the states?
No - not seen that news story. Do you have a link?Life is ridiculously manic at the moment. It feels like I am trying to do four jobs at once.
Cleese is being more than a little hypocritical. He built his career out of challenging the establishment. Now he has become part of the establishment and he doesn't like being challenged himself. He is making exactly the same noises about political correctness that some people made about Monty Python when it first aired. The painful truth is that the generations after us don't necessarily think the same way that we do. That's how we make progress. The kids take us in a new direction and the stuffy old farts mutter about how it was much better in their day.
The next generation are thinking about political correctness. Maybe they will over-react from time to time. It won't be an easy process.
But this young generation are the next lot adults. They are making the world, not us oldies. We should be trying to understand them and not trying to tell them that they're wrong.
And, as a writer, these young people are my customers. I'm going to try to understand them, not oppose them.
Hmm. That's an interesting point of view, Will.Do you mind if I share your thoughts with a mate at work that Dave and I have been debating this subject with?
Be gentle with me - I've had a rough couple of days! Of course I don't mind. Share away.I'll wake up eventually...
Is your car silver? They like those ones best. Next favourite, light blue. (speaking as resident of coastal town/bitter experience)
Rosemary - yup, it's silver. I didn't know it was a favourite target for the boids.I don't know what that bird had been eating, but I almost needed a chisel to get all the bits off.
Handy HInt: don't park under trees where peacocks roost, unless you want to go into the guano wholesale business...
Are vinyl records better than CDs? Perhaps there is something important about our sense of touch that is missing from an increasingly digital world?https://willonce.wordpress.com/2016/0...
I do enjoy your blogs, Will. And I completely agree. Having said that I have no turntable. I do still have all my vinyl prog rock albums though.

I've sent the full text of my next book to my lovely beta readers. For everyone else, here's a little teaser. It's the full first chapter.
"Love, Death and Wyrds" - the sequel to "Love, Death and Tea"
https://willonce.wordpress.com/2016/0...
Of course, this could come crashing down around my ears if my beta readers hate it and I have to do a major rewrite. But what the heck. Let's take a risk.
