SOLVED. Prince boy on a journey; juvenile with illustrations. Prince tells rain to stop and start, on river journey in boat. [s]

I read a book back in 2007 or 2008. Dont remember the title or author. Not the standard book size, its a bit wider and paperback. Had pictures.

All I remember:

The cover was a yellowish/ cream, a picture in the middle with a boy looking in a river surrounded by animals or grass and trees- or a boy in a boat going down a river surrounded by animals or grass and trees.

I think the title was something about a journey. The name of the kid i think started with an e.

The sentence i remember most was when the boy, im sure is a prince, goes down a river in a boat. It starts to rain, the boy is spoiled and tells the rain to stop. It stops raining but then the river dries up and the alligators and fish begin to die. The boy tells the sky to rain and it rains. The boy then grabs a large lilly pad and uses it as an umbrella.

Can you describe the illustrations - realistic/cartoony/cute, simple/detailed, painted watercolors/bold graphics, sunny/dark/muted colors/black & white? Do they remind you of another illustrator or picture book author?

I dont think it was a chapter book. Had illustrations every few pages, Not cartoon, Somewhat realistic. Kind of like a kids book but not little kids, ages 10 yr +.

Rainbowheart, no this was not the book. I even asked the person that lent me the book. It was so long ago and they don't remember the book either.

This might be the yellow cover you remember:
