I struggled the most with the wealthy characters one so I hope that's not the first task lol
I happily read MMM! Dark Horse might work. I’ve been meaning to start that series. The others I wanted don’t say anything about being wealthy on the blurb, but it’s implied—I don’t believe that counts, though. I’ll check your shelves and MM group bookshelves for any tagged groups.

alright all, I'm not super competitive so no pressure, but I wanted to throw a few things out there. feel free to post in the main thread if you're the fourth one to finish, no need to wait for me.first task!

Read a book with a wealthy character, in précis or tagged to describe.
a few other notes:
- all books read for this challenge MUST be tagged in the main page genre (MPG) as romance. Please make sure they qualify from that aspect before you start reading.
- Min page number for each book is 90pp per goodreads
- You must post a completion post when you have finished reading (see below).
- You have until Friday, December 21 @ Midnight US EST to post your completion(s) in this thread.
- If you don't finish in time this week, you MUST finish by cut off next week or you will be eliminated.

So saying 'movie star' or 'rock star' is ok, actor or musician is not. Do you see the difference? So being a noble is not enough but being a socialite or from the upper crust would work. I hope I'm being clear...

Nope! Every team gets a rose when their first 4 books are finished. But the first team to finish their 4 books gets an extra rose.
No worries about the longer book. With 14 or 15 teams competing for the fast rose every week, the chance of winning it is always slim. Everyone picking a book that they feel confident they can finish in the week is probably more important, even if it's a longer book. Only three of us have finished a book so far anyway- Eugenia has read 2!

Hi Makbeth! Welcome! and don't worry Sandy, almost all of my books that I have 'planned' for the other tasks are longer books but I had almost nothing planned for bank, so I had to find a random one and it just happened to be a short one.

I love to read about romance every kind of romance, but essentially sexy ones and those who the author did a great job where you are in suspense and you are surprised!!!

It would be a re read for me but this series is very very good . No boring read, lots of action and the Lilian character is very much fun !!! If you don’t have heard about this series Lilian is an independent woman disguised as a man who is working for Mr Rickard Ambrose very wealthy businessman and sparing with pounds. Eventually they are falling in love but lots of obstacles are ahead of them for them to be together ☺️

I am finishing one who qualifies for romance and wealthy but I’m afraid it can’t count because started before the date. So I am reading the next after who will count for the task but it will be longer than yours . All my books are 300-400pages 😊 much longer

glad you can stay Makbeth - you have until Friday to read your book, so plenty of time :) just post here using the proper format when you are done.If we all read a book, we get another rose, and if we read 8+ books we get another rose - so the most we can earn this week is 3 roses.
Good! Just to be sure, Can you just confirm that if the book is a MPG romance and is shelved as billionaire for example it is enough for justify « how the book qualify » even if it is not in the in précis or in the cover ?... I hope my question is understandable lol . Thanks !!
Yes, exactly - MPG romance, shelved as billionaire, at least 90 pages :) I clicked on both of the links you shared and they both count, (as long as you didn't start them before the task started).
Thanks you for confirming !! I suspect it would not count if started before the date. Book 2 will be !!

Second book for the task.
In case you missed it, MKat confirmed in the Q&A thread that the next task will be the 'visiting family' one, so we will have 2 weeks for that task - which is great, being over the holidays and all.Meanwhile, I'm really hoping it isn't 'animal'. I have plenty of books on my list that I need to read in December (library, netgalley, other challenges) that would work perfectly for the other 3 options, but none for animal. I can find one, sure, but still, I'm hoping for one of the other 3 lol.
I kind of figured that's how it would go. Trying to do a time-sensitive challenge over the holidays is really hard. It's bad enough trying to finish my last book of the year early enough that GR will count it toward my challenge!

I love that the challenge starts/tasks change on a saturday evening, that means I can for sure read a themed book on the weekend. I have a bunch of netgalley, library and other challenge books I 'need' to read this month, but lots of them work for the first 2 tasks, just depends on which task it is that will determine how many books i read each week (or rather, attempt to read).
I don't read m/m but I did a quick google and found these:

When I was on the page, I checked the blurb for something about being wealthy, or searched the whole page for words like billionaire/millionaire/rich/wealthy and at least one person had shelved it as such, so they all qualified. Of course, I have no idea if they are actually any good lol
