Hi my name is Jenni and I live in Ireland. I work in my local library which is great as I love reading. I read all sorts of books but my favourite kinds of books are Crime/Thriller books. I have over 2,000 books on my to read list. My reading goal for 2019 was 90 books which I have achieved and I am currently on my 107th book of the year. The book is called Silent scream by Angela Marsons which I am loving. I look forward to following the group's discussions and reading any of the books recommended by the group.

Hi. I am Sean. I am in California. I am currently trying to get through all 1300+ books on all the combined editions of 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die.I actually found out about this group on a group dedicated to that list. It was a post from way back in 2015. And looky here, ya'll are still at it. At least somebody is. Good for me.
I am going to look for a yearly challenge to help me decide which of the list's books to read next.
This year I am shooting for 75 books, 50 of which are already from the list.
I am at 67 of the 75. I have read 116 of the 1315 so far.
Hello everyone! My name is Adrian and I'm currently a student at Portland State University. I enjoy reading, lifting weights, dancing, jogging, swimming, hiking and singing karaoke with friends.
I joined this group to find a like-minded community to do reading challenges together and have accountability during those challenges. Sometimes, we often feel that we're not going to make due to taking care of responsibilities with our lives or being distracted by other things. The perks of having a group or someone can help us get through the tough times and keep our sights on the main goal. I can't wait what this community has to offer and hope I get to know all of you!
Hello everyone! My name is Alexa ! I’m a new member from New York. I was hoping to challenge myself even more and stumbled upon this group.
I’ve been reading a lot this summer and have been challenging myself to do 30 books before the year is up. I’m at 12 now. I love reading all different genres but my favorite ones are mystery and thriller, fiction and historical fiction.
Hi everyone! My name is Taisha! I'm a new member from New Jersey. I like to read young adult fictions, but mostly read whatever catches my eyes. I love doing challenges because it helps challenge myself to read more and that is how I find this group. My reading goal is to reach 50 books, right now I'm at 27 books. I been taking a little vacay from reading lol. 🙂
Welcome Everyone! I am so happy to see such creative people join our group! You will see that there is so much to do with our group. Set a reading goal that you are comfortable with and have fun. There are so many people here that we hope that you all make some great friends. Welcome again and happy reading.
Hello! I'm Kia, 24, from the Philippines. I'm currently working as an ICU nurse but I have a great passion for reading. I've been reading a lot of books but ever since I started working after college it became hard for me because of the hectic schedule. I joined Goodreads' yearly challenge to motivate myself more. My goal this 2019 is to read AT LEAST 50 books. Yes, in spite of the demands of my busy schedule and nclex-rn exam review I really do want to continue my favorite hobby. Happy reading!
my name is Jennifer. I'm really struggling to read this year. I finally got back into reading while I'm in rehab after I fell and broke my hip. Now I've got three months till I go to visit my dad for Christmas and I'll have no time to read. I'm going to try to read 18 books by then. Any recommendations on books I should read?
I’m Ken and I’m new to this group, and the Good Reads app. My daughter and I are doing reading challenges this year. I’m on track with my challenge of reading 35 books.I downloaded Animal Farm to read along with this group for this month (September). I found in for 99 cents on my Nook e-reader. Yes, I’m from the dark side (e.g., non Kindle user).
I also just stared reading “The Garden of Beasts” by Erik Larson (analog flavor). I’ve read Larson’ “Devil in the White City”; so, this is my second Larson book read for me.
I look forward to fun and entertaining discussions here!
hi I'm Ira, from Indonesia and I just got back into reading recently. I haven't really read many books recently but I really want to start reading again. I decided to read at least 10 books before 2019 end for now.
I'm Ashley and I'm from Texas. I am a book-oholic. I am looking forward to being part of this group.
Greetings out there in Book Land!I am Sue and have just stumbled across this group. I love the fact that there is a group that gives me a chance to stretch out of my comfort zone with my reading. I live in Thailand and have been living in Asia for most of my adult life.
I tend to read mostly fiction, both contemporary and loads of authors from the 1800s.
My goal is to read more of what is on my bookshelves and slow down going into bookshops and going crazy.
Hi everyone.I'm Chanankarn but please call me Bow for short. I am in Thailand, a country in Southeast Asia. I am really excited about being part of this group. Reading is my favorite hobby, but over a couple of years, I read less, mostly because I don't have to do so but I'm still a reader.
I love to read thrillers, fantasies, YA and Sci-fi.
I found this group by looking for a group that reading is a challenge to enhance myself to read more.
My reading goal for 2019 is a book per month. I know that's just a little but I try to read more.
Hi! My name is Yasmine. I am from France.
I love to read fantasy books. It all started with Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings haha. Somehow, I want to go out of my comfort zone, and that's how I found this group.
My 2019 goal is reading 20 books from now to the end of the year.
Hope there will be a lot of fun :)
Welcome to you all! I am so happy to see new faces. I hope you all finish 2019 strong with us and enjoy every page you turn!
Hello, I’m Alesandra, but you can call me Alice. I had another account in 2015 but decided to make another account this year so I could actually be active on Goodreads. So far, I never realized how amazing it could be on here, especially for book lovers. I love the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson series. I’m also a Ravenclaw 💙 My goal for this year and the years to come is 25 books :)
Hello guys! My name is William and I’m a student from Kenya. I love reading books and my love of reading was sparked once again after I discovered booktube channels. I love thrillers, books that will make me cry and anthologies. My goal this year is to read at least 25 books! I’m happy to be here

I have Five amazing, Smart Children and I've been blessed to have met my soulmate at age 13! we've been together for 23 years and married for 18. We have 6 cute dogs and 3 silly cats.
Hi everyone! I joined few days ago but I didn't have time to check this group very deeply yet. But you have pretty interesting things aroung here, though, so I hope I will be able to participate in some of them.
About me, I am 29 (from 1st October), I live in a small city in the south of Spain and I am a teacher, I teach Spanish as a foreign language to students from many nationalities and ages.
I read almost everything, but lately I am more into non-fiction, specially history and sociology/pschology. I enjoy novels too, but I don't get so amazed and so hooked as I used to do in the past. Maybe I'm getting old haha
Nice to meet you all. See you around=)
Hey guys :)I'm Sara, currently living in Sarajevo but I spent a large part of my life between Canada and Australia.
I was looking at books way before I could read or talk and once I learned how to read I didn't put a book down. I'm into most genres and have never read a book I totally hated.
Ps. the smell of books is my favourite scent ever. Anyone else agree?
Hi everyone so happy to have you all with us! 2019 has brought so many new books and new friends to our group and to me. I love that you all have decided to join us. I hope you find at least 1 challenge to join and one book to love. Welcome again and happy reading.
Hi all. I joined because I'm planning my personal reading challenges for 2020. I was really slack in the first half of this year - starting but not finishing books. Weird. But, I'm back on track now. :) I'm based in Australia and I'm really enjoying Goodreads to make contact with other readers, pick up suggestions for books from them (not actively - I don't like direct recommendations - I mean based on books they are reading and their reviews) and just generally it's encouraging on here.
Hi all. I am new to this group and I joined really late (I know). I'm from Bucharest, Romania. I am way behind on my reading for this year and I joined the group for motivation. It really helps to see how much others read :) There's not much I can do until the end of the year but I hope new challenges will be up for next year and I will have a bit more time to keep up.
Hi,my name is Adrienne and I'm from the US. I'm an avid reader, having read over 60 books this year to date. I'm a member of 2 book clubs and read a variety of genres. My favorites are mysteries, psychological thrillers, and general fiction. I'm not a fan of science fiction or fantasy. I'm interested in what other people are reading, so I'm happy to be following this group.
Hi All, My name is Megan and I'm from rural Alaska. I have really just started using Good Reads this year to get back into reading after recovering from chemotherapy.
I enjoy fiction, historical fiction, mysteries, non-fiction, biographies, and classics. I really just like books with a good plot and that make me think.
I'm looking forward to continue reading and see how many books I can read in one year.
Hi I'm Jade I'm an editor and book reviewer from the UK. My Instagram is @bookreviewoldandnew and I love editing and reading all different types of books. I currently work closely with the CEO of Spotlight Editing and I review across many platforms including Goodreads, Amazon, Netgalley, Instagram and my dedicated blog on Spotlight Editing's website. Great to meet you all! Hope to get involved in some reading challenges from here!
Hey, everyone! My name is Meghan, but my friends call me Mo! It's nice to be here and meet all of you! :) I am from the thumb of Michigan. I love to read Young Adult, Romance, Erotica, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Paranormal Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Thrillers, and children's book (I'm a teacher). LOL. I found this group when scrolling through the list of groups because I was searching for some motivation to get me out of this reading slump. I'm so behind on my reading challenge! My reading goal is 100, but I'm only at 51. For some reason, I've really slowed down since the school year started, which isn't like me. Hoping to get back into it and get as close to 100 as I can by the end of the year!Happy Reading! :)
Hello everyone - I'm Bernadette and I'm glad I found this group. I live in Media, PA which is outside Philadelphia. My goal for 2019 was 26 books, one every other week. I didn't meet my goal of 35 books for 2018 so I thought I would lower it. BUT I AM AT 60 SO FAR! I never thought about audiobooks until this year and that has upped my game. I listen on my commute to & from work. I'll need to increase my 2020 goal and joined this group in anticipation of next year. I think this group will expand the genres of types of books I might not otherwise read.Happy Reading:)
Welcome everyone! We are so glad to have you here :) Have a look around and feel free to join the activities that you like!
Hi, My name is Shruti Dankhara and I'm from India. I recently started reading in 2016 and i have been a massive bookworm since then. some days I gobble my books and somedays it takes me ages to get through something. I like to read all sorts of book other than self help because to me they are super boring.
i found this group just via scrolling through the group section. My reading goal for the year is to finish 50 books and i am only do e with 23 or 25, i hope i can try and squeeze in as many books as possible.
so yeah that's about it.
Incase you have any books suggestions that you cannot recommend enough, please do tell.
Have a great day♥️
Welcome Shruti Dankhara so happy to have you join us. I think you will find that this book has lots to offer. I know 25 books seems like lots to read but you will find there is lots to do and you still have plenty of time. I am not sure what to recommend. My favorite author is stephen king so anything by him is awesome. Welcome again and happy reading.
Hi! I'm Judith, or Jude for short.I'm still new to this website so I thought I join this group to find people who love books as much as me. My favorite genres are History, Biographies, Fiction, Non-Fiction and Historical Fiction. I'm not too big on Horror or Fantasy but I am willing to give them a try.

Hi I’m Doug, and I’m new to the group and quite new to goodreads as well.I enjoy horror and crime novels and my reading challenge for 2020 will be a book a month. Not a huge challenge but i don’t have a lot of time for personal goals in my life at the moment.
I hope to read more Chris Carter novels and my kindle is on its way from Amazon as I write this!!!
Hi everyone! My name is Amanda. I’ve been a huge book worm all my life. Most of what I read is: fiction, thrillers, romance, true crime and depending on the topic/author, biographies/autobiographies & self-help/how-to books. I like some YA but do not read kids books, manga, chick lit or sci-fi. I’m always looking for new things to read about so, when I stumbled upon this group yesterday I thought it might be a good fit. Thanks for the add!
Hi there! I'm Kayli! I'm 29 and Canadian. Military wife and mommy of two little girls under 2. I love dystopian novels the most right now, but I enjoy YA, Memoirs, romance novels and graphic novels when I need a bit of a break. House Slytherin. :) Excited to be part of the group.
Hi Everyone. My name is Daye and I live in the US. This seems to be an active and engaged group and I'm happy for the opportunity to participate. I especially enjoy many types of art that are speculative, surrealist and magical in nature but I am also open to reading and discussing any great story from almost any genre. Chat with you soon!
Hi there I am Barbara, 36 yrs old from Belfast in N Ireland. I only joined Good Reads last month and looking for like minded book friends to chat about books, books, books. Looking forward to taking part in this challenge in 2020. Nice to meet you all and please feel free to add me as a friend xx
Hello people!I'm Kati and I'm from Finland. I'm currently a student and my major is forestry :) When I'm not reading, I like to photograph, go hiking, play video games and go to concerts! I also like anything to do with nature, history, psychology and anything that has mystery or peculiar things involved. I would say I'm as curious as Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
My fave genres are fantasy, scifi, historical fiction, fiction books in general, but I also love nonfiction books too depending on subject (usually nature or history themed ones!). Choosing just one favorite book would be too difficult but one of my fave authors of all time is Sir Terry Pratchett!
Nice to meet you all! :)
Hi everyone :) I'm 19 years old and have always loved reading books. My favorite types are history and fantasy books, I also like reading books about investing and business to better my financial future. Anyway nice to meet everyone. ^_^
Hi Everyone,My name is Sue and I am joining this group to encourage me to read books that I might not normally choose.
I love reading historical fiction but will also read anything! I am interested currently in learning more about the indigenous communities in Canada and the many injustices that our government has bestowed upon them.
I do like reading for fun too and like to balance lighter novels with more hard hitting ones.
I made a goal in 2019 to read 20 books and I have done that (there was a time that I read at least one book a week but since I retired I don’t seem to have as much time??) go figure!
At any rate I will aim for 30 books this year...and am interested in having this online book club to share thoughts and observations about books we read “together”.
I haven’t joined a book club before so am very interested to see how this plays out!
Hi All! I’m Livi from Boston. I joined the group today because I want to ramp up my reading and didn’t want to wait for 2020 to get started. I’m looking forward to participating in the challenges, meeting new people, and encountering new authors and genres.
I generally read a variety of genres - from history to sci fi to political books and mysteries. I’m jumping right in here with the November challenge and just downloaded The Nightingale. It sounds like an exciting read!
I’m so glad to find this active community of book lovers. I hope I’ll have a chance to get to know many of you over the a book or two!
I'm excited to be in a group where I can discuss what I'm reading and what others are also reading. I used to be a voracious reader and drifted away from it, the result of large amounts of empty/useless screen time. My name is Kay and I live in southern Idaho. I started the 52book challenge on Reddit in July and have read 42. I doubt I will hit my goal, but am excited to reach this goal next year with this group.
I like just about everything from non-fiction, history, biography, scifi, horror...
Hello! I'm Kate from California. I joined GR in 2016 and really started to get more involved last year. I've always been a reader. In fact, I went 17 years without owning a television and really cranked out reading the books then. Reading has been my entertainment and, when needed, a place to escape. What I like to read varies widely; it really just depends on my mood.
As far as my reading goal for 2020? Honestly, I'd much rather have a goal by pages, rather than number of books. That way I wouldn't be concerned with the length of a book and how it fits into my goal. But if I have to say number of books - 75. It's the same goal I've had for 2018 and 2019. Didn't come close in 2018, and am currently 4 books behind for this year.
I look forward to participating in this group.
Hello! I know that I am a bit late in joining this group. I'm new to Goodreads. I am Shivani, from India. I absolutely love reading books. I am a bit disappointed with my reading in 2019, so, I want to make amends for it in 2020. My goal is to read around 200 books next year, and I know that I can do it with some motivation!
So, I joined this group, as it seemed like just the right place to be.
Thank You for having me here.
