Hi, I'm Lewis from Doncaster in the UK. I'm 18 and currently in the second year of my A-Levels studying Literature, Biology and Politics. Mostly interested in fiction, SCI-FI, self enlightenment and history books. Currently reading 'The War Of The Worlds'.My goal is only 15 books, I hope I can manage more but I wanted to make sure my first goal was achievable.
Hi! I’m Kelsey, I’m from Maryland In the USA. Some of my favorites are young adult, fantasy, and contemporary. I found this group just browsing the app. I have never set a reading goal before so I decided to start small for my first one with 10.
Hi! I'm Elliot, a teacher living in Yorkshire, England. I've only joined Goodreads recently and have set a reading target of 41 books this year. I'm doing my best to get more boys/men into reading.Currently reading Where the World Ends by Geraldine McCaughrean.
Always happy to chat about good books.
#menwhoread.
Hello!!!!!! I am Budhiswatya. A Psychiatric Social Worker by profession but a dedicated traveler and an ardent reader. Reading is therapeutic for me and I desire to connect with voracious readers alike me.
Happy Reading to all!!!!!
Hello, My name is Janel. I am from Texas. Just last year I started to get into reading. I haven’t done much reading because of work and sometimes I fall asleep while trying to read lol. I set my goal to 25 this year. My favorite books are mysteries / thrillers.
Howdy everybody :DI am Calliss and I just joined the group yesterday :)
I joined GR last year but did not update often.
This year I have decided to give it all! Last year I read 73 books, this year I decided on 52 + :D
Normally I would say that I mostly read crime/thrillers, but for the past couple of months I have been happy with chik-lit books too. I also like fantasy even though I havent read lots of those books.
I apology in advance for any spelling mistakes, english is not my first language and my phone tries to change most of my words ^^
I love to read, and I use the library, my ipad and my own home-library :D
Well enough about me for now, if anyone wants to be friends (I love to read recommendations) talk or something else, I would love too :D
Hi Everyone! My name is Emily and I joined this group because I don’t have a lot of people to talk about books with and wanted to get more involved in the Goodreads community.
I love all sorts of books. Some of my favorite genres are fantasy, romance, biographies, and poetry but I am trying to branch out and try new things. I set a goal of 100 books.
I look forward to chatting with you all and following your reading journeys!
Hello! I’m Mariela. I am a mom of 2 from Canada who loves baking, reading and travel. Trying to get back into reading as I have been so busy with work and my kids to have any time for myself. This is the year I try to prioritize myself a little.
I forgot to add that I love all genres except for thrillers. My initial goal was to read 20 books however I have already hit 7 so I have increased my number to 50.

I totally agree about the fantasy, by the way. It's brilliant, but you know, don't read it that often. So, anyways, what's your favorite book? Mine's probably Stargirl. Have you read that?
hello everyone. My name is Leticia, 26 years old from Uganda. i am currently a grad student but i read a lot of romance and fantasy at every opportunity i can get. I would love to hopefully read 200 books this year.
Hi, guys! I am Ananya from India. I joined Goodreads like 2 days ago and I have absolutely no idea how to go about it! I love reading and have been since I was 8 years old. My fave genres are high fantasy, young adult and paranormal romance. What can I say, I have a thing for werewolves! I like listening to music too. Fave series:
1. Harry Potter
2. Throne of Glass
3. Spell Weaver
( The second and third might change with time!)
Another unimportant fact about me is that I am an introvert and would rather read a book than talk to people! Right now, I am a junior in high school (will be a senior after a couple of months). My fave subjects are English and Maths. The three Cs of my life are Chicken, Chocolate and Cottage Cheese. Yummm...
My 2019 Personal Reading Challenge is 100 books. 2/100 done.
I came across this from the goodreads group thingy. I hope to make more bookish friends here with whom I can talk books, swap recommendations and all that.
Hello people, I'm Lisa,I've joined this group a few minutes ago and to be honest, I have no clue how this group stuff in here works :D
I'm from Germany and I don't have a specific kind I like to read, but mostly novels, thrillers and sometimes fantasy, but I guess I'm open for anything.
My goal is to read 40 books in 2019 and I'm looking forward to meet some people in here to chat a little about books:)
Hi everyone, I'm Shane from the UK and I've just joined this group and Goodreads as a whole today.I'm a fan of thriller, fantasy, crime and dystopian type books and I really like fast-paced page turner books so feel free to leave any recommendations.
My goal for 2019 is to get back into reading and develop the love that I had for it as a kid again. But numerically, my goal is to read 30 books in 2019.
Hope to speak to some of you and start sharing our recommendations soon!
hi i'm marie-ange and i'm from canada. i've always had a love for literature and books but i guess this year i've been really passionate about reading ! my favourite genres consist of fiction, romance and self help but this year i want to expand my taste towards sci-fi/fantasy (so pls if you have any suggestions, send them my way!). i feel like i'm rambling aha so i'll just end by saying that i have a pretty small goal this year but i might grow it soon. anywho, i'm excited to be in the group and i'm excited to see what this year holds. cheers and good day guys ! :)
Hello everyone. I'm Jothany from the US. I used to read a lot growing up but somehow I stopped. This year already has brought my reading bug back and since I have over 200 unread books (yes these are physical books I own) I definitely just have a goal of getting through as many as I can
Hi everyone! My name is Alix and I'm from Canada. I'm not picky on the genre, but I really dislike historical fiction.. some of my favs are romance, suspense, and a little bit of fantasy. I'm open to ANY recommendations!
Can't wait to meet you all :)
Hi! I'm Kaylah and I'm from just outside Melbourne, Australia. I'll read anything and everything I can get my hands on, but I tend to lean toward sci-fi or fantasy for the most part. My goal for this year is to read 100 books now that I actually have free time after finishing a law degree. I'm still learning my way around Goodreads but I figured this would be a great group to keep myself accountable and connect with other book lovers!
Hey I'm alana, I hope to read 100 books this year 😊 feel free to add me, would love to make new friends here
- Where are you from? Missouri- What kinds of books do you like to read? Mystery / Thriller
- How did you find our group? Randomly!
- What's your reading goal? at minimum, 1 book/month!
I'm Casey from Texas. Despite my love of reading, for years I finished only two to five books annually. Last year I challenged myself to read 50. I fell short but only barely (think I got to 46), so 50 will be my goal again this year. My reading goal includes finishing four long and/or challenging books, one every three months. The plan is to read 10 to 30 pages a day every day from those books, on top of my other reading. Last year I got bogged down in a couple of long books that hurt my pace so maybe this strategy will work better.
Genre is not that important to me. I have no preference in fiction vs. nonfiction and I try to work in a few poetry collections, short story anthologies and graphic novels in my lists. I highly value characterization over plot, but I'll finish a bad book to see what happens in the end.
Hello peeps, my name's Kai, I'm soon to be 20 (entering adulthood with a heart of a coward.) and I love reading, my favorite genre is Contemporary although I'm trying to expand my reading range. I'm specifically trying to get into fantasy soooo any kind soul mind recommending me a good fantasy book for a beginner like me?
Welcome everyone! So happy to have you join us. I hope that January was good for you and your reading and look forward to seeing what you all read.
Hello,My name is Pat and I am a high school librarian. I did this challenge last year and found it gave me incentive to actually post what I have read and reflect on it through the comments or reviews. I am going to try again this year and plan to read 30 titles (formally). I read constantly and not everything I read makes it to my Goodreads account but I am trying.
Wishing everyone success with their own challenge.

Hey everyone, I'm Anna. I'm originally from Missouri in the U.S., but have lived abroad in Korea and traveled for the past 5 years. I like to read almost anything, but my favorite genres are fantasy, historical fiction, magical realism, and literary fiction. I've also started getting into memoirs and thrillers lately. My goal is to read 70 books this year and to write a review or at least a short blurb about what I've read, so I can look back on it in the future and see what I thought. I also want to explore more classics, since it's been a while, and sci-fi. Feel free to add me, I love meeting other readers. :)
you said to Claire : Hi everyone!!
My name is Janelle and I am a book lover from Boston, Ma. I live with my boyfriend and two cats that we adore and that are like our children. I also am a Disney fanatic and go every single year! I love thrillers, especially psychological thrillers!
I'm so excited to be a part of this challenge with you all and can't wait to share my love of books and passion for writing with you guys!

I hope that you enjoy your 70 books this year and have a blast with our group.
Hi folks, My name is Bonnie, and I'm currently residing in Florida. Reading is honestly my happy place, so I do a lot of it! Last year, I had the goal of reading 200, and didn't quite make it, so this year, I'm knocking that in half, though if I get close to my goal early, I'll most likely add to it.Currently, I've decided to get get myself out of the book rut I've been in, (I compulsively re-read books I know and love, and avoid new things...) by downloading almost all of the free available books in the Kindle store, I plan on reading all 109 of them and reviewing them here on Goodreads, effectively pushing me out of my comfort zone. I'm sure I'm in for some interesting things, lol!
Anyway, Nice to meet ya'll and I look forward to seeing what goes on here!
Hello! My name is Shaela. I am a high school English teacher and an avid reader. I hope to find some really great books from suggestions, so if you have recommendations, please send my way! My goal is 75 this year (25 more than last year).

I haven't read much since 2015 but have recently started back again in July 2018. I lost my cousin to cancer in 2016 who was like a brother to me and totally lost my love for reading and everything else I liked to do. I'm finally getting into a better state mentally and SOOO happy to be reading again! I'm really excited to be on my 2019 reading journey and plan to read at least 52 books. If i'm being honest with myself i'd love to get to 100!
Like probably many of yall my favorite books of all time are the Harry Potter Series! Some favorite authors of mine are J.K. Rowling, Ellen Hopkins, Gillian Flynn, A.G. Howard, Julie Anne Peters, Sarah Pinborough, and Marissa Meyer among many others.
My favorite things to read right now are Mystery/Thrillers, Horror, Psychological thrillers, Contemporary and YA although I do tend to get into all different genres.
I found this group looking for a book club to help be be more accountable in my reading. The challenges are really cool and I want to take part in as many as I can!
Feel free to add me :)
