I'm not finished How the Marquess Was Won yet, but so far my top 3 Pennyroyal Green reads are the same as you. I didn't love Since The Surrender that much, but so far my least fav is #1, The Perils Of Pleasure. Glad I didn't read that one first, or it might have put me off the wholes series. I only gave it 2.5 stars.

I chose and enjoyed bunch of Caroline Linden and Amanda Forester series this year, so it was easy to read through. I only have 6 books left to complete my final three series.

I applaud you who chose to read Pennyroyal Green or Maiden Lane. I have read a few books from each series but hesitate to tackel that many in sequence.

Yeah it's taking me ages to get through Pennyroyal Green, and I have been reading other books in between.

Yay, I finished another Pennyroyal Green book today, How the Marquess Was Won. I've now read 6 of the 11 books. I've only read two of them this year LOL, the other 4 in 2018. Just takin' my time ;)
This book was nice but not mind-blowing. I went 3 to 3.5 stars.

I am reading the series. The Lochmore Legacy. I have read books 1 His Convenient Highland Wedding and book 2 Unlaced by the Highland Duke. I am now on book 3, A Runaway bride for the Highlander. The last book is Secrets of a Highland Warrior. Each story goes back in time.

I am enjoying them. They are not time travel. They are about two feuding Highland Clans. The Lochmore and McCrieff, Start in the late 1800 go back to 1298.

I just finished It's in His Kiss from Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series. Only one to go in this series now. Woohoo!

Like most of the books in this series, I gave it 3 stars. I liked it OK, but it's pretty light. Pleasant entertainment, though, and I do intend to read the last one as well.

I read the Bridgertons for my series challenge last year. I think the first book was my favorite. Then the rest for all 3/4 stars. 8 books in a series is is a little much for me in a row.

I agree. I started the series last September (2018) and here I am still with one to go. It's just too much to read them all straight after each other. It's a rare series when I can do that.

I also liked the first two better than the others. I quite enjoyed the Cinderella retelling one as well. But some have been a bit meh.

I read Bridgertons books out of order almost 4 yrs ago. My favourite is Simon and Daphne's and I gave 3/4 stars to the others except Eloise's story, my least favourite. Overall, I liked the family dynamics through out the series.

I agree. 8 is too many to read at a stretch. I am comfortable with 3/4 books in a series.
I did the same with Penyroyal green series. I read 4 books and got sidetracked. I still plan to finish the series, probably next year.

I read Bridgertons books a few years back . I enjoyed them. I do like a Book, about family's with humour in them. That's how I get hooked on series. lol.

Bridgerton's were my first foray into HR, along with Lisa Kleypas. And I truly loved Quinn and Bridgerton's in those days, but since then I've come to look upon them fondly as a sweet, cute and passive books. Anthony and Kate (Book 2) and Penelope and Colin (Book 4) were my favorite for sure!

The authors I read later on like Milan, Hoyt and Linden are more my kind of authors but I'm definitely grateful to Bridgerton's for getting me into this genre.

@Sharon - I agree. I love series about families. It's one of the things that's kept me reading the Bridgertons.

@Tanya - I know what you mean. For me, the storylines in the Bridgertons are sometimes a little juvenile, but there is the sweet/cute factor. I generally prefer more serious and emotional HRs such as Duran, Balogh, Burrowes, and I'm a big Kleypas fan. But yeah, you do tend to have a soft spot for the HRs you first read. For me that would be Georgette Heyer and Judith McNaught.

Just finished my last book in the series Talisman Ring by Karen Hawkins. Lady in Red. Have enjoyed each book and loved all the Brothers stories.
I have now completed my challenge. Series 8 finished and 35 book read in total.
I am an Addicted series reader, and will probably read more this year LOL

Yeah, the Lorraine Heath Texas series was one on my series.

I also enjoyed some Amanda Forester and Caroline Linden series, and none of theirs were Western.

I finished another Pennyroyal Green book too, It Happened One Midnight, and really liked it. 4 stars. I think I have three to go in that series now (I've skipped one and have to go back LOL). It's a long series, but pretty good.

I finished Not Quite a Lady. This Carsington Brothers Series is a downhill slope for me. I really enjoyed the first two books and their humorous tone, but I did not like the third or fourth one. These are all brothers, but these two didn't feel like they fit into the same series. Hoping the last book is an improvement.

I really liked Not Quite A Lady. It was my fav out of the series, actually. I know what you mean about it feeling different from the others, but for me that was a good thing. I actually prefer a more serious tone anyway. Not sure whether I finished the whole series, actually, but I'm pretty sure I read 1, 2 and 3.

Not Quite a Lady is number four, so maybe you read all but the last one. I can and do really enjoy serious historical romance too. Maybe it was just the expectation from the tone set in the first couple.

I finished another book in the Pennyroyal Green series, and really liked it. 4.5 stars. Between the Devil and Ian Eversea. Now I only have 3 books to go in the series.
