thanks i just couldn't seem to make it work
for a book set in summer in Australia...can the story span over other seasons as well, as long as we see some part of it in summer? Or does the whole story need to be only in summer season?
For Cocktail, it is only 2 books required for the 10 point tasks right? Just want to be sure because it lists 3 on my spreadsheet.

It should be set in summer. So maybe a prologue or epilogue in a different season, but the vast majority of the book is summer

No problem, thank you Karen!
Sorry if this has been asked before but:1. For the bonus task, is Sea considered to be a summer word?
2. for task 35 (character's name is also a word), would the last name work?
Stacy wrote: "Can I count the book of the month as a book read for this challenge?"If it fits any of the tasks; then yes.

Thank you!
I was doing some playing with my spreadsheet (I'm sorry! I can't help it!) and the formulas in the points column of my December sheet got mixed up. The formula just needs to be dragged up but I don't have the permissions to do it. :x
On the tab where we assign tasks to books (first tab). when I type in a book title, it's blue and underlined. But it's not an actual link. Do you want us to create an actual link to the GR page for the books?
I think I seriously underestimated how many books I read in a month. Is there any way for me to change my category? Or do I just keep reading now that we've started? I don't think it's going to be a cusp thing either. I have a feeling I will land smack in the middle of the next category.

Yes for both

Yes, just let me know the category you think you need to be in and we can update

I guess I just never really paid close enough attention to my totals before.
It seems I'm in the mood to binge on shorter books after focusing on those in the 400+ page range for wheel, so I should move up to Holiday level instead of Cocktail.
It looks like at least one person, if not more, is appearing on more than one leader board, e.g. Roger is on both poolside and cocktail now.

Just Roger. I didn't have a chance yesterday to finish updating it ;)

Thank you :-)
For the skinny dipping task - does it have to take place "on screen"? My MC talks about her brother and friend going skinny dipping as a reason shes NOT going swimming with them, but we dont actually "see" them do it.
the Beach leaderboard sheet is not ranking players, I think something went wrong somehwere (I'm Jon Snow when it comes to Excel)
Stacey wrote: "For the skinny dipping task - does it have to take place "on screen"? My MC talks about her brother and friend going skinny dipping as a reason shes NOT going swimming with them, but we dont actual..."Yeah, you need to have a scene in the book, not just someone talking about it.
Teehee thanks Tati
Looks like Keli’s sheet has an extra column added in so the points aren’t picking up and that then affects the rankings as it causes a formula error in my master sheet. I can’t delete her extra column (column B) on her sheet from my phone, but maybe if Tea is online she can do it 😉 Otherwise I’ll fix it when next on a computer - in a few hours

I'll try to figure out what's the problem, but can't promise I'll fix it :P
Never mind. I didn't read your whole post. *bows head in shame*
Fixed :)
There was also error in formula in master sheet - there were letters after formula that picks up the points
Hey Karen,Not sure if it is important but on my spreadsheet the column where it is tallying if I read the required number of books for my category is not calculating the 20 points one as I've read 3 books. I think the formula is wonky and needs to be changed to 20 instead of 200.

Now maybe I am doing something stupid or maybe i just don't understand how but i cannot get any of the linked sites e.g. nameberyy, listopias etc to open from either my own spreadsheet or the master. I cannot copy the part with the link to paste into my search bar I have tried every way i know so is there a way to do this and if not could we just have the links pasted in the help thread
Would Uprooted by Naomi Novak work for a book that has a yellow cover and black writing?
Will post a picture later if I get a chance

A mod can say more but on Tineye it is less than 25% yellow so I would guess no
Marie (UK) wrote: "would you accept this as yellow cover with black writing

I think it is more tan/brown than yellow

I'm not sure why it won't let you copy & paste, so I've linked them in column E of the "December Tasks" tab of the master sheet
:)

You'll need to post the cover you are reading for anyone to really make a call.
Something like
or
are good ones for that goal

I'm now at the point in the month where I need to start focusing on which planned books I can actually deliver on. especially bearing in mind the Xmas craziness....
