Updated message 18-- 22/24-- a book that features an animal shelter or sanctuary-- Dark Side of the Moon. The initiating event happens at an animal shelter, and much of the book takes place in a sanctuary
Just completed #23 (100 km of home - Boca Raton) - Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls by T Kira Madden. I did not enjoy this book. The author felt like she was trying to do something "literary" rather than trying to convey her memoir. What the book ends up being is some random thoughts slung together with shocking details thrown in for effect. The only part I liked was the last section, and it's left completely unfinished. Not worth reading. 2 stars24/24 - challenge completed!
READ & GO CHALLENGEDuration: January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2019
It's October 31, so I will see how many of the books I"ve completed this year will fit... I've discovered 16 with very little research. Although these prompts are VERY specific, and I can see at least 3 prompts for which I will most likely NOT have a book to correspond, I'll aim to read 18 books for this challenge! I may have to adjust that, depending.

Beartown
✔️14. A novel set in a country other than your own

15. A novel featuring a garden

Update message #26Finally, I'm not going to read the bonus book, so my goal for this challenge now is 23 books
Thanks.
Update to 361. 14/243. A novel featuring food you have not tried : Carmelo or Puro Cuento Cisneros wrote a love letter to Mexico, and in it there were food descriptions that sounded delicious.

24. Bonus: A novel set in your home town (within 100 km of it) : In West Mills Though this book is set in a broadly named "rural North Carolina town", I'm counting it as one close to my hometown of Charlotte, NC.

Update to message 77:READ & GO CHALLENGE
Duration: January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2019
Progress: 24/24 (Completed)
Updated message 18-- 24/24-- Challenge Completed!Set in a museum-- Meet Me at the Museum
I didn't count this when I first read it, as only a small part of it is set at the Silkeborg Museum. In the beginning, this is where Anders (Kristian in my version) receives, reads, and responds to Tina's letters. Even though the museum is central to the story, I was holding out for a book whose characters were physically inside a museum for a greater portion.
Well, now it is December and I counting it-- it does fit the prompt and I can no longer afford to nitpick.
It is incredible how fast this year has flown by, there is only a week left to complete this challenge! Best of luck with the last straws and happy holidays :)I'll post a final update for this challenge in the 2nd week of January.
