10.10. It's Getting Dark Outside!
Dark will come earlier now, so curl up and read a "dark" book from one of these lists: Quality Dark Fiction or Great Books with Black Covers. Note: any book used must meet all regular SRC requirements, including requirements for children's books.
REQUIRED: Include in your post the list on which your book appears and its number on the list.

Can I get verification on #3 American Gods (American Gods, #1) by Neil Gaiman

message 14: by Nox (new)

Nox (_nox_) | 11 comments I have a question about this challenge. Number 13 on the Quality Dark Fiction list is Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice. I've read that book a million times and, as many know, there is a new Vampire Chronicle being released on October 28th called Prince Lestat (by Anne Rice). I pre-ordered this book awhile ago and would like to use it for this challenge, if permitted.

Prince Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles #11) by Anne Rice has a black cover and is a part of the series that Interview With the Vampire started.

sorry, only books that are actually on one of these lists can be used.

Narumon I checked out a copy of The Name of the Wind, which is #80 on the the Great Books with BLACK Covers list. However, instead of this cover The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss , my book has The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss . Question: do the covers have to match the one on the list exactly? Thanks!

No. If the book is on the list, you can use it, even if your edition has a different cover.

Sandra (sandra72) | 714 comments The Giver is #15 on the 'Great Books with Black Covers' list.

Since it has the genre 'childrens' on it's main book page can I get it approved here? The AR Bookfinder information is as follows:

IL: MG - BL: 5.7 - AR Pts: 7.0

If it's on the list it's okay. It doesn't need to be verified.

Hi - I'm not sure if someone has already told you but you'll need to post in the Completed Tasks thread to claim any points. This is just the help thread for this task.

message 29: by Nicola (new)

Nicola | 1360 comments Quick question - I'm new to Goodreads (sort of) and I'm wondering if there is a quick way of searching for a book on these sorts of lists? I'm working my way through it looking for likely books but surely there is an easier way?

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) If I started a book via paperback ages ago, just got a copy again (I got as far as 44% in a kindle format), can I read it?

Forbidden - Tabitha Suzuma (#297)

Since the book is not 500 pages, you'll have to start over. But the task doesn't prohibit re-reads.
