Thanks for the great picks.. I just plain forgot genre, but cozies are always on my list along with chick lit. Those are my two favorites.

Thanks for the picks. I've been wanting to start the Harry Dresden series for at least five or six years now, but never got around to it, and considering I write fanfiction, Fangirl is perfect for me. As for the genre pick, I should be just fine. For some reason, I'm okay with longer books (boo short attention span) if it's not all one story. It doesn't really make much sense, but most of how my brain works doesn't, so I'll just go with it. ^_^

I only have a couple left in the Alera Codex which is pure fantasy. I have really enjoyed Jim Butcher's writing. I will move on to Harry Dresden after that.

LittleRedRidingHood | 315 comments Just a random question coming through. Will there be a dusty bookshelf for january?

message 71: by Brigia (new)

Brigia | 141 comments I read my first pick this month: Picture Perfect Cowboy
I rated it 3 stars - a sweet love story with interesting MCs.

message 72: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments I have two of my three picks read. I finished Let it Snow before December even started (I started it when I got my copy from the library, then I ended up binge reading most of it). It was really good. The first two stories rocked, 5 stars all the way. The third story wasn't all that great though, sadly. But at least I got 2 out of 3 great stories. As for Storm Front, I just finished it last night, and I absolutely adored it! I kinda figured I would, but still, soooooooo good. Must read the rest of the series asap. ^_^

Not so sure if I'll finish Fangirl by the end of the month. It's a good story so far, but oh my gods, the extreme levels of social anxiety from the main character is so bad that it's making my own anxiety kick in. I'm gonna try and finish it, since me and the main chickie have fanfiction writing in common (which you almost never see in books), but I'm not sure how long it'll take. -_-

message 73: by Marty (new)

Marty (martymill) | 1300 comments I finished my first two picks for this month. I really liked This Case Is Gonna Kill Me, it was an easy read and an interesting twist on the vampire/werewolf/supernatural genre. I gave it four stars and might continue on with the rest of the series later. I have too many of those going at this time. A Burnable Book was good for the most part but it got bogged down in places with the multiple plots and historical details. I like historical fiction, but when it starts to read more like textbook, I start to lose interest. Gave that one three stars.

I don't know that I'll get to my bonus picks this month. I'll try.

message 74: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 351 comments I stayed up late finishing The Death of Mrs. Westaway, which was lots of fun. Thank you for the pick, Carrie.
