It's so interesting to meet all these people from different places where as in the original Grisha trilogy it was mostly focused on Ravkan's. (hide spoiler)]

Finished Ruin and Rising!
Review: Oh I loved this book! So exciting, full of surprises and tugs on the heartstrings and emotion (not all good). It's official, I have fallen for Nikolai no question, could be my favourite fictional character ever. Ever since we were introduced to him in Siege and Storm, he just gave off such Jack Sparrow vibes, and I'm a sucker for that.
There was so much drama in this book, and I feel like no Alina development.. She just kept going round in circles and annoying me more and more every single page. I hate her. If Nikolai's my favourite character ever, Alina's my least favourite. She's so self-centered, so whiny and selfish with no care for anyone else, regardless of what she thinks and says.
I still don't see the appeal towards the Darkling, I still view him as such a 2D character, such a flat typical villain, but the history revealed in this was exciting. Now I can read Six of Crows!

So I said I was going to start language of thorns before Six of crows but because I was so excited I decided not to. (also because those short stories make no real difference to plot, they're just fairy tales that children of Ravka are told)

I'm waiting for a friend to buddy read another book thus I know its inactive but I've started reading this book. I've read up to ch 3. It's still the beginning and it just reach the part where Alina is being discovered as a Grisha and she's denying it. (It's kinda in the synopsis so I'm not putting this under the spoiler). And I don't know what to feel yet but I kept getting distracted and doing other things besides reading the book. So hopefully it gets better. I do love the designs drawn on each chapter head though.
