16 - A book with a question in the title
Joyce wrote: "Does anyone know whether What's Eating Gilbert Grape is actually a question or a statement? I've seen it with and without a question mark. It will be my choice if it works.Thanks."
I'd say it's totally a question even without the proper punctuation! :) I know lots of us are planning Where'd You Go, Bernadette even though it doesn't have a ? in the title!

Sounds like a question to me.
Where'd You Go, Bernadette sounds like a good one! Im crossing off heaps of book to film adaptations in the 2019 challenge that's for sure haha
Chrissi wrote: "What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal Is It Night or Day? - Using this one!"
'What was she thinking?' sounds like something I will either find gripping or will love to hate, so I think I'll try that one.
Been meaning to read this for a while now: What Matters in Jane Austen?: Twenty Crucial Puzzles Solved

What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal is a great idea! I think I may go with this one.
I have a copy of The Finkler Question lying around, and since it technically has a 'question' in the title, I'm just going to go with it!
I'll be reading What the Hell Did I Just Read I love the John Dies at the End series and this one has been on the TBR since it came out.
I was going to do Whose Boat Is This Boat?: Comments That Don't Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane but didn't realize it was super short so I'm gonna have to pick something else.
Totally jealous of everyone who hasn't read Where'd You Go, Bernadette yet. I also really loved Mara Wilson's essays Where Am I Now?.
I'm in the middle of Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House so I might wait to finish it til next week:)
I currently have Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? out from the library but also like the look of Am I Normal Yet? and What If It's Us
I've been wanting to read Enough Said: What's Gone Wrong with the Language of Politics? for awhile, this is the perfect excuse!
Tanvi wrote: "I have What If It's Us on my wishlist, hoping to get it soon. And I also have Can You Keep a Secret?, Remember Me? and [book:Are You Afraid of the Dark?..."I loved 'What if it's Us"
I'm going with What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. Its not technically a question but it could be ;) and that works for me.
Just finished What Was She Thinking? Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller for this prompt. Very much enjoyed it - very thought-provoking. Even though pretty much none of the characters were very likable!
I read a lot of Lois Duncan as a child (I don't know why I was so fascinated by her slightly creepy books, but I loved them), and she wrote a non-fiction book that would work here called Who Killed My Daughter?: The True Story of a Mother's Search for Her Daughter's Murderer. I absolutely loved it, and even though I'm trying not to do re-reads for this challenge unless it's for the nostalgia/re-read prompts, I might do this one for the question.
I just read a cozy mystery that fits this category - Who Moved My Goat Cheese? It's about a chef who's working to open a farm-to-fork restaurant in a small town in Idaho. I guess Who Moved My Cheese? would also work, but I haven't read it!
I was actually planning on using Who Is Vera Kelly? for this one...I just know it's about a lesbian who gets recruited by the CIA in the 60s.
I think I'll choose a book from the YA/middle grade range in the "Who was?" series. I'm going to need a couple easier reads to get through 50 books in a year anyway.
I feel like I may have cheated a little on this one since there isn't a question mark, but I read "On What Grounds" by Cleo Coyle for this one. It was not one of my favourite reads, but I already have subsequent books in the series so we'll see how it goes!
I just finished "N or M?" by Agatha Christie. I always like AC, and this was a new set of characters for me since I had never read any of her Tommy and Tuppence books.
I read Can You Survive the Zombie Apocalypse? for this one, which also counts for choose-your-own-adventure.
If This Isn't Nice, What Is?: Advice for the YoungI found this book, its a compilation of graduation speeches Kurt Vonnegut has given over the years.
Gemma wrote: "I have N or M? by Agatha Christie for this one. Originally, I also thought of going with The End of Harry Potter? by David Langford."I just finished "N or M?". It is a good A Christie read.
I'm going to do Can You Keep a Secret?. I was supposed to read it last year but never got around to it.
Your Fathers, Where Are They? And the Prophets, Do They Live Forever? is an interesting one. It can also double for the "book with no chapters / unusual chapter headings / unconventionally numbered chapters" if you're into that.
The only ones I can find at my library that aren't for little kids or self help are They Shoot Horses, Don't They? or Can You Forgive Her?. Has anyone read either of them?
Johanne wrote: "And I thought of this one I loved as a teenager: Agnes Cecilia, hvem er du? meaning Agnes Cecilia, who are you?. But it seems in other languages than Danish it's not phrased as a question."Does it matter? :-D
I chose "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? but I'm reading it in Swedish and then it's called "Androidens drömmar" (The Dreams of an Android).
BTW, I love Agnes Cecilia also
Ketutar wrote: "Johanne wrote: "And I thought of this one I loved as a teenager: Agnes Cecilia, hvem er du? meaning Agnes Cecilia, who are you?. For anyone who enjoys juvenile fiction/Lemony Snicket, there's a prequel series to A Series of Unfortunate Events (about young Lemony Snicket's first case) that I highly recommend--the series is called All the Wrong Questions:Who Could That Be at This Hour?
When Did You See Her Last?
Shouldn't You Be in School?
Why Is This Night Different from All Other Nights?
Sadly (or not so sadly because I loved them), I have already read them and so will have to look elsewhere to fulfill this category...
I just finished Why Kill the Innocent by C.S. Harris (for a different prompt) It was a great historical mystery ( but rather late in the series)
Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House Loved this one by Alyssa Mastromonaco about her time on President Obama's campaign & white house staff. A little coming of age, a little how to manual, a little comic relief, and a lot of humanizing both political figures and the people behind them that make it all look effortless.
Just finished Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? An entertaining account of her start in comedy.
Alix wrote: "I wasn't going to do it but I've gave in.. Going to try Where'd You Go, Bernadette hope its great!"ha ha! I caved on this one as well and just took it out from the library.
