We just read this book for November book club and all agreed it would make for a fantastic screenplay!

Indian Horse is already a movie :)

same!

same!

Same. I am sure one of the book that I read for Book Club will fill this prompt easily.

I read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini but I definitely have A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed on my list... definitely options!
My advice to anyone looking for a book.... The Butterfly Garden is INCREDIBLE and so is Beautiful Disaster! I hope BOTH of these are made into movies!!!

I think the Kite Runner is already a movie?

My best read of this year, and Ive had some REALLY good ones. This book took me completely off guard. I had no intention of reading it. The cover turned me off. I ended up using it for a challenge prompt and it was my first book of the year. It floored me. I agree that it would make a fantastic movie. Actually now that you've mentioned it, I really really hope it happens :-)

Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
The One In A Million Boy by Monica Wood
Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson
Friend Request by Laura Marshall
I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes
The Dry by Jane Harper
This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton

The Postmistress by Sarah Blake
I’m Travelling Alone by Samuel Bjork

This is the common theme I continue to see! Everyone is so surprised by how brilliant it is and now I can't wait to read it :) Glad you adored it so much

LOL Trina, I literally tried to kick my Dr out of the exam room when he came in and I was at the one part where I was like OMG>>>WTF... NOOOOOOO!!!!! He laughed at me , and then I had to wait until I got home. Usually I read kindle books on my iPhone while Im out and about, but thats the one hardcover copy I carried EVERYWHERE.

I started it this year but I'm stopping because this would make an awesome atmospheric spooky ghost story-type movie.

American Gods "
Just FYI, American Gods is currently being made into a TV series,..."
Oh I did not know that. Yay!! On Netflix or???

No kidding! This is a great book. I am not a sci-fi fan at all. Kindred involves time travel and I would have avoided it permanently, if not for a friend that kept pressing me to read it. EXCELLENT choice!

The Ruby Red series has been made into films :) the English dubbed versions are hard to find though, and sadly they were dubbed in American accents

young adult space fight on spaceships. plus it's a trilogy! so it could be lots of movies. It would be so cool as a movie trilogy.

As with most things, it's a matter of interpretation but the way I interpret this prompt is that it needs to be a book that hasn't yet been made into a movie but *should*, in the reader's opinion.
I'm with Johanna on re-reads but I usually end up reading at least a few books that I think would make good movies every year so I expect it will be the same next year.

Such a great idea! I actually haven't read either of the books, but really loved the movie and would adore a sequel.

I don't know, just throwing it out there.

A movie version is already in the works, set for release on May 17, 2019. So it would work for the "made into a movie in 2019" prompt. Also "takes place in one day"; "A book with no chapters / unusual chapter headings / unconventionally numbered chapters" and "astrology term in title".

Agreed! I think I'll ..."
Me three! Especially since I'm trying to fill prompts from books I already own.

I second this! It's a book that pleasantly surprised me, I remember not being able to put it down.
