eleanor & park: what are the last three words?
I believe the postcard said something positive and Park replied with something positive back. I've read interviews with the author and ( If I'm remembering correctly) even she doesn't know what the last three words are.
did you know that in the spanish version it actually says there were only two words?
I'm pretty sure the postcard said "nothing ever ends," from the final issue of The Watchmen. Park mentions that one of the characters says this quote, and then wonders if Eleanor has read it. It would kind of mean I love you, and that she did read the last installment of the comic book.

I don't think that Eleanor said "I love you," it isn't really her character to do so. The "nothing ever ends" makes more sense. Reading comic books was their thing.
I don't speak Spanish, so can someone translate "nothing ever ends"? Maybe it's a two-letter sentence, as well?

I think it's " waiting for you" because that would just so sweet, personal and just reuniting them. Getting them back together. That would be lovely.

Of course it's "I love you." She never told him that in person, you see. It's the only way that the book could have a happy ending.
I would have to say "I love you." what other heart wrenching sentiment would be better to end the book with. I mean if the Author comes back with a sequel then I hope it addresses those tragic three words.

It’s definitely I LOVE YOU cause in different translations it says different amount of words in my Translation it said only one word you can say I love you in one word in my language ❤️❤️

I just finished the book for the 2end time and that Park chapter really stood out to me.
I have just finished reading this book for the first time and I believe that the three words on the postcard are Eleanor finally saying "I love you" back to Park. After reading some of the comments above in this discussion about the Spanish version only having 2 words (since it only takes two words to say I love you in that language) I do feel more sure of my belief. HOWEVER, I do think that it is important to point out that the translator(s) for the Spanish version of this book could have come to the conclusion that Eleanor said "I love you" themselves based on the context. So it is posssible that maybe, the author did not intend for the three words to be "I love you." Ultimately it is up to the reader.

I think it meant I miss you because I don't think it would be something as basic as i love you.
I hated the ending, I hate authors who are just too lazy to decide on something that'll be worth it so they just leave it open. If I didn't want to know what the card said I wouldn't have read the book. I'm not gonna try to figure it out on my own, THANKS

I've read the book maybe 5 times and I always thought it would be I love you, even tho in the dutch translation there are also three words, but I love you in dutch is ik houd van jou so that wouln't fit. but me being me thought that the translater could have translated the book litterly and kept it three words. But I'm coming back would fit in three words in dutch. So who knows, is it the amound of words that the translater would think it is or did the writer say to them what it actually said?
In the end Eleanor just sends park a letter in which there's just three words. And the way he seems to be happy would only mean that's it would be I love you. Coz that's the thing park was waiting to hear. And ta da!!!!!!! He gets it. Hope its that. I should be that right??? Anyways I wanted the ending a lil more passionate like, it would have been amazing if Eleanor would have gone visited him or just done something special for him. And also can the words be we're not over??. Alright my mind is always thinking crazy *ufffff*

It can't be ,,I'm coming back" because that's four words so it should be ,,I love you". Someone said that in the spanish version it said two words. Just like in the bulgarian. In spanish and in bulgarian ,,I love you" is two words.

Something we have to keep in mind is that Rainbow Rowell didn't reveal the words to ANYONE—including Spanish publishers. All translations are, to an extent, bastardizations of the original story, so even the person who wrote the Spanish version of Eleanor and Park was interpreting the story. So I don't think it's "I love you" based on that. I still believe it to be "Nothing ever ends" from the final issue of Watchmen, which both Park and Eleanor mention reading near the end of the book.
I think most appropriate reply after one whole year without a word would have been ' I am Sorry ' .

I think It can be "I want you" it is said previously in chapter 19 when park asked, "why do you like me?"
I believe it's "nothing ever ends". Btw, did you know that Rainbow Rowell is having thoughts of writing a sequel? But I'm not sure if she's doing it because I've read somewhere that she's not yet sure about when.
I used to think it was "I love you", but then I told to my friend, and he said that could be: "I am pregnant". I don't think it is, but it would be interesting if it was, right?
