Preeti (a_sthir) | 3 comments This is one non-Discworld book that has had the same impact on me as the profoundest bits of Discworld.

Would love to know if there are other readers out there who've read this and what they think about it.

Aphelia (aphelia88) | 5 comments I haven't read Nation but one of my friends on Instagram just recommended it to me so I'm looking for a copy 😊

Paulo Sousa | 2 comments I've read Nation a few years ago, so most details are now a bit (severall bits!) blurry...

It starts a bit like "The Incredible Tide", by Alexander Key...

Cathy (lifelonglearner14) | 3 comments Nation was amazing, agree with Preeti's comments. It didn't fall into the obvious plot line and instead was something fun and profound.

IrisT | 3 comments I read it a year ago or so, and totally love it. Some bits of the ending are slightly bittersweet, but it's still a great book.

Ah, yes. Bittersweet is quite the right word. I really expected Mau and Daphne to somehow end up together. But the actual ending also feels perfectly satisfying in a way.

Mary Catelli | 58 comments It didn't draw me as much as some others of his.

Samantha Williams | 2 comments I like this one! It's fun & different, I read it a when it came out - it's on my looooong list to read again (I'm currently meandering through the discworld).

Candice I liked it more than Dodger, another non-discworld book. Nation was full of deep philosophical questions and a hilarious parrot! 🦜

Honestly, I think he is a great author in any genre.

Vivian | 2 comments I preferred "Dodger" to "Nation", though that's partly because I grew up reading Dickens and the like. It felt oddly familiar.

Claire (grumpybear) | 9 comments Yes I have and I thought it was fab!

Louise | 3 comments I read Nation a good many years ago and at the time I declared it one of my all time favourite books. The other books that I still hold as favourites are the Johnny Maxwell books, specifically Johnny and the Bomb and Johhny and the Dead.

Cathy (lifelonglearner14) | 3 comments Nation is wonderful. Read it many years ago, but it's stayed with me.
Really enjoyable.

Paul Hi. Could someone please kick me out of the group. The app isn't giving the option to leave and I can't see how to leave on the Web page. Thank you
