Perhaps fantasy character ends up something special from sleepwalking

I must've picked up this book started it and set it down. I cant find it now.

What i remember:

Wakes up from sleepwalking on a beach. Waves lapping at toes. Sick friend wakes her for a surprise birthday party. She pays for sick friend's medicine. She takes a three minute shower and is going to be late for work.

This is driving me crazy. It was very recently. I appreciate any help!
