Ch 27 (69%) - I must be reading too much RH b/c I keep thinking that Lacey should have all these guys. (view spoiler)[ I like Alex for the dark broody lover. Michael is the hothead, and Jack is the charismatic/charming one. Lacey seems like the kind of girl that could handle 3 guys, right?

I got off topic there....at this point, I still think it is Frank. Every time the author introduces someone, I keep noticing that they are all tall. We know the killer is a short guy, but she hasn't described anyone but Frank as short. Plus he is an ass. Just saying. (hide spoiler)]

Jim doesn't seem the type, but he just told them to dig in the wrong spot. I would have thought Thomas, but he had a chance to get rid of Alex and didn't. Oh, and they get their phone to work for a minute but just call Alex under the snow, they don't consider checking in with base or anything while it works?? (hide spoiler)]
Ch 15 - (view spoiler)[ Oh good, when Liam heard someone banging on the window, I thought for sure the killer found them instead. Well, things should get interesting now with the non-fiance, fiance in the plane. I wonder if she will finally be blunt with him and break up with witnesses. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - Eh, (view spoiler)[ I thought the suspense was ok. The author could have done so much more with it. We knew Whitehall was corrupt, and that would lead us to believe that others were too, but nope. I really thought Ryann's illness was more than it was. And of course, Darren might not really be dead (no body, no proof of deadness). I thought the romance sucked - first, it was a little tough to believe that insta-love would happen in these conditions. Hiking through the cold doesn't make one think about love, it makes you think about breathing and putting one foot in front of the other. Plus, there was a killer out there. Not exactly romantic. That part just doesn't make sense to me. And who the heck does he work for? I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be the Senator, but I can't think of why he would want to get rid of his own son. Finished - (view spoiler)[ Well that came together in the end. I still can't believe the Uncle wanted Daniel dead for something he didn't even see, and was willing to turn over a whole BUS FULL of kids to Gerald to make his problem go away. People are sick.

This was another book that I thought the suspense plot was pretty good, but the romance stunk. I think the first book in the series set expectations that couldn't be continued. Half the time the characters in this book were feeling amorous, I was thinking "really? Now??" I did like Michael and Jamie together, but I think the author could have done more to show how their opposite personalities worked to bring them together. What little we got, we were told rather than shown.

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Well then. That was interesting. The storyline was just enough "out there" that I kept getting surprised. I mean, initially, I thought we were just going to have our average copycat serial killer on our hands, but then we started getting the cult vibe and it threw me off since the girls didn't seem to be in a cult. Then the killer's fascination with Victoria seemed very out of place. Yet....it all came together in the end. The romance was meh. Again, I think that the first book in the series set my expectations pretty high and nothing has come close again. The suspense is decent though. (hide spoiler)]

So much happened in the last quarter of this book. Bobby was so much more involved in his brother's crimes than I was expecting. And it's crazy that Kelly's daughter is actually Suzanne's! Overall I really enjoyed this one.

Also the way Darrin described things, it seems like he had someone that was going to help him escape? Not sure exactly.

I knew someone was helping Darrin! Didn't expect it to be Alex's old boss, but it makes sense since he would have the access needed. That bit with the avalanche was stressful, it didn't seem like they would find Alex in time. I'm glad he's ok though.

The tension is building so well as we get closer to the inevitable confrontation between Alex and Darrin. I'm glad that Alex was able to get in touch with Collins to tell him of his suspicions about his old boss.

I'm glad no one was killed when Darrin finally went after the group looking for a way out. Also, super happy Kiana wasn't killed and that she helped stop Darrin. The fact Alex tried to save Darrin just goes to show you how much of a better person he is than Darrin.

Oh wow, finding the missing kids thing is heartbreaking. And Daniel's body isn't there, so where is he? Why is he the only one missing? Michael's character isn't bugging me in this book like it was in Hidden which is nice. I like Jamie's character so far.

Jamie and Michael were so close to finding Chris and then he ran off. I get why, the guy who tortured him as a kid found his house but it would have been nice to see Jamie's reunion with Chris. I'm so curious who Gerald's boss is. I don't know why, but I'm leaning towards it being Phil, Michael's uncle, but not sure why.

Chapter 1-7: (view spoiler)[I am not super into the dentist MC yet, too much teeth talk imo and I am not enjoying it all but the case is a super intriguing one especially considering the killer from years ago has already been punished. I wonder who could have the knowledge of where the body was hidden and how would the detectives catch up to him since he seems to be much ahead of them in his planning (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8-17: (view spoiler)[Lacey's ex husband is greedy and nasty but obviously he doesn't have it in him to plan the murders so meticulously, I wonder if the serial killer used to have a partner back during the Co-Ed killings and it is him who is continuing the legacy now. I liked how Lacey stood determined in the face of danger and refused to back off. Jack and Lacey make for a good pair but I am not completely invested in their romance yet (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18-24: (view spoiler)[Lacey being the centre of three men's attention isn't all that entertaining to me honestly. I do not get why they are all fighting over her. Sean seems innocent though, he may have simply developed a liking to her because she was polite to him or something. Laacey's friend going misisng is concerning and I am curious to find out why Lacey is at the centre of it all, was she the intended victim instead of Suzanne? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 25-30: (view spoiler)[Ok so i definitely did not enjoy the steamy scene between Lacey and Jack at all, I felt like it was sorely misplaced and right when we were getting into the midst of all the action too. I feel like Michael may have gotten himself trapped into a hornet's nest approaching Linda all on his own and her second son is looking more and more like the killer threatening the witnesses from the past case (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ Damn that ending was kind of explosive, it was so full of action towards the end I loved every bit of it. The biggest shock factor certainly came from Kelly and Jessica and I do feel kind of stupid for not catching up on it at all. I am glad that Lacey and Melody made it out safely although I am still not sold on the idea of Jack and Lacey's romance tbh, I found it unnecessary to the central plot (hide spoiler)]

The case in this one is really interesting so far. What were the girls doing out there? Were they lured or did they willingly do this? The connection to the old case is neat and I wonder if there was someone around involved with both sets of killings or if it's someone inspired by the old ones.

I'm getting a bad feeling about this Jason kid. I wonder if he's one of the followers of the original killer? And it seems like Trinity is connected to this more than we know. Why did the kid with the gun get agitated by seeing her?
