Chapter 1-4: (view spoiler)[I am liking the overall setting for this book, there is so much mystery and uncertaintly in a rescue mission that one never knows what might happen the very next second. I am also very curious to find out why exactly Alex joined the search by lying about being sent by the federal agents and why exactly are they so concerned that he is with the rescue team. The book is shaping up to be a good read and I am excited to continue into the wilderness (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5-8: (view spoiler)[OH no so Alex holds Darrin responsible for his brother's death which honestly does seem suspicious to me but I am wondering if the serial killer's MO was that he killed nurses after raping them, what reason would he have to go after Rosa and ultimately Samuel? I feel bad that if only Alex's wife Monica had told him about the call from the care centre, so much tragedy could have been prevented. There is a hint of romance between Alex and Brynn in the book and I am curious to see if anything would become of it (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 9-12: (view spoiler)[Dang I hate corrupt cops and i want to see Paul punished for his crimes - that would only happen though if the rescue team manages to find Darrin alive and he agrees to speak against Alex's boss for his role in everything. I was scared for a second there that Alex was buried in the snow but kudos to the team for not giving up and rescuing him in time. There is definitely something cooking between Alex and Brynn (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 13-16: (view spoiler)[I knew it! Alex and Brynn make a good couple ngl but I hate that Jim and Thomas found Liam at the exact same time and brought him back to camp. Darrin has his eyes set on Brynn which makes me quite afraid for her since Darrin exhibits all signs of being a sociopath. I feel really bad for Alex, there is no doubt he blames himself for everything. Now that Patrick knows of Alex's suspscions about his boss, I hope he is able to do something to stop him (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[I knew Paul was dirty but still I could not have imagined the level he stooped down to. Hearing Darrin talk about how he and Paul watched as Paul's sister drowned horrified me. I am glad that Alex got the chance to take his revenge on him. I also liked how gracefully Brynn conveyed to Liam that she won't be able to marry him. The happy ending for Alex and her was simply a cherry on the cake for me (hide spoiler)]

How did Gianna's necklace end up with the dead guy? Who is he? Still haven't the faintest idea who this person after Gianna is. I wonder if it's Owen? He seems shady. Also not liking Gianna's uncle, he seems like he's hiding something.

Wow, was not expecting that the old man who died was Gianna's father. I have a feeling it's Leo Berg who is after Gianna. He may not be the person directly going after her but maybe his son and he ordered it? I wonder if maybe that's Owen? I hope Violet is ok and that they find her in time.

So it was the South African connection that was responsible. I'm glad Chris and Michael were able to catch Reid after he ran. And that everyone ended up being ok. I enjoyed this one.
