Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Nor I, is that her new YA series?

I did just finish Twice as Hot and that was good.

message 52: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Yeah it's her new YA series.

I've heard lots about it, but I have no idea if it's good or not! :/

It's been on my TBR list for agggess.

message 53: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Yeah I have it on my list to get from the library, but I sort of just keep forgetting about it lol.

But I agree with you Dawn, I loved Twice as Hot. A very unique premise.

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments I tried to read Intertwined several times, but it just didn't grab me the way the rest of her stuff does.

Angela (angbens) | 106 comments Can't wait for the new LOTU books to come out. I have to catch up on the Atlantis series too.

message 56: by Jesse (new)

Jesse (Jessep) | 15 comments I Love Gena Showalter! I have read all of the Lords of the Underworld series so far and the mini-series Tales of an Extraordinary Girl (Playing with Fire and Twice as Hot) which I absolutely LOVED! I'm plaining to read her Alien Huntress Series. I just love her stuff!

Some of the Alien books are a little more sexually hard core than her other books. The first one especially.

Angela (angbens) | 106 comments Just got my Into the Dark (Lords of the Underworld, #.5, #3.5, Plus Bonus Material) by Gena Showalter

message 59: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Oooooh, I want to get that one. Tell me how you like it.

message 60: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I just finished The Darkest Passion did anyone read this book?

I found the ending odd and while I liked the story I was a little confused about the end. Also I was thinking the next book would be about Strider but it looks like that is not until 2011 WTH??

message 61: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments The next book is about about Gideon, The Darkest Lie and that comes out at the end of this month-6/29. The Darkest Secret is Amun's story and that will be out March of 2011 followed The Darkest Surrender which is Strider's story in July of 2011.

My library doesn't have it yet, but I really want it!

message 63: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments Me too! So many good books come out this time of year and lately I'm having a hard time keeping up. I used to read a book a day now I'm down to 2 a week if I'm lucky!

message 64: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Gideon confuses me I am impressed GS could write a whole book with his twisted vocabulary.

Who is Amun again?

That really sucks about Strider.

Angela (angbens) | 106 comments I finished The Darkest Passion I enjoyed it. The ending was a bit odd though. Having a hard time with the first story of Into the Dark

message 66: by Jesse (new)

Jesse (Jessep) | 15 comments I LOVE Showalter's books. I have read the Lords of the Underworld series and the two books of Tales of an Extraordinary girl and LOVED LOVED LOVED those! I just finished the first book in Alien Huntress and although I enjoyed it, it didn't give me that feeling like the other books I've read. Has anyone read this series to tell me if it gets better. I know I'll read it anyway on faith, but just wanted some opinions. Thanks All!

Crystal (crys25) | 237 comments @Raquel-Did you not like The Darkest Passion?

message 68: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Jesse I just started the first book Awaken Me Darkly, and I dislike Mia and I am having trouble understanding the attraction for Kyrin. She is just hostile and she reminds me of a fake Anita Blake, without the morals and double the hostility. Plus she seems to be in love with her partner.

I am about halfway through so I am hoping it gets better. Maybe she will get laid and become peaceful who knows.

I liked the first one okay. I didn't think it was more sexually hardcore though. At least not compared to a couple of the scenes from Twice as Hot...Thanks for letting me know what you thought of the series though. I'm gonna go on with the series, but I definitely like Lords of the Underworld best!

I see the attraction to Kyrin, but I understand what you mean about Mia. I love Anita Blake, but I did see the connection you're talking about. I did like the book, but not as much as her others. I was a little confused in the beginning too about her feelings for her partner, just because of the way she described him, but I came to realize that she just really cared for him like a best friend and he didn't make her feel the way that Kyrin did.

Amun is the one who's the Demon of Secrets. He's the one that never talks. Should be a lot of dialogue in his book. LOL!!!!

I'm just reading the Lord's of the Underworld right now. I am on Sabin's story "The Darkest Whisper".

Myranda | 9 comments The Lords of the Underworld all the way!! Love them all! Alien Huntress is pretty good as well.

message 74: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments She has a teen series goodness she is like a writing machine!

message 75: by Steph (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 1573 comments Right? I agree, Dawn. It always amazes me when authors can keep up with so many different series and have their fans enjoy them all, none suffering because of the other. I'm in awe.

message 76: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments She also has an Atlantis series, I've read a few of the books but haven't finished the series yet. I really love her Alien Huntress series. Kick ass characters in that one and her YA series is unique. Showalter is definitely a favorite of mine.

message 77: by Angela (new)

Angela (angieerickson) | 33 comments I love Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress and Alien Huntress YA series. I've only read the first Lords of the Underworld, but plan to read the rest soon.

message 78: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments For all of you Lords of the Underworld Fans Ms. Showalter has a spin off series called Angels of the Dark. The first book is Wicked Nights due out in June 2012.

Here is the blurb from the website:
From the New York Times bestselling author who brought you the Lords of the Underworld comes a dark, seductive new series featuring angels poised at the brink of destruction…

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed too dangerous, too ruthless, and if he isn’t careful, he’ll lose his wings.  But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred . . . until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he’s never before known.

Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane.  Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her.  Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation—or her ultimate damnation?

After Striders book I am very interested in Zacharel.
