Searching for inspirational fiction set in mid 1900s. Man lost everything, money, home, etc, then is ran over and killed (all in the beginning pages). Woman and adult daughter move to cabin in woods and meet neighbor. From the cover of the copy I read, it was likely written in 70s or 80s, but possibly a new cover has been made.

I really want to reread and let my daughter read. Hoping to find the title and author. Thanks!

Christian (inspirational) fiction. It’s in the USA, I’m thinking it might have been New York but I’m not certain on that.

Woman begins babysitting neighbors child, romance begins.
