SOLVED. Fantasy/Fictional book about a girl who is (forced?) to translate books. She comes across one and she's the only one who can figure it out. Something about a prophecy or royalty? --2006ish? [s]

I remember reading this book around 2006-2008.
I specifically remember that she was a translator of older books and comes across one that no one else can figure out but the language just comes to her. There's some sort of mystery on where it is leading and I feel like there's some sort of royal aspect to the book. Either royals are forcing her to translate the book, or she finds out something about being royal?

I think the setting was a castle and reminded me of the renaissance in how they dressed? But was fantasy.

I was really into reading romantic YA books at the time, so probably has some romance (ya) in it at some point. I also was really into historical fiction (even though this is fantasy), it might be from an author that writes historical fiction (YA).
