haha I'm so glad

My 3 year old asks me every day for "the Oogie Boogie song" because he sees my profile picture on here :)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I got a couple books finished today - and will have at least 2 more by the end of BROWN - but I'll be out of town tomorrow morning - Thursday night, so I'll just be checking in on the app. But with the drives, I should have some reading time - if I don't fall asleep! =)

Added Never Knowing by Chevy Stevens and Lifeguards and Liars (Summer in Diamond Bay, #1) by Maci Grant to the spreadsheet, both work for BRN.

There isn't one for Oogie Boogie

Not every team has one - just where the captains wanted it.

I didn't ask for a "read books" thread, because I personally find it more confusing for everyone - especially those who use the app.
We are in week 4 and we haven't missed any books so I think it is ok, unless anyone has a strong opinion otherwise?

Lexi | 4247 comments We got Reindeer next week. Reindeer on cover and title are doable but how is reindeer a genre?

Edit: I take that back it is: https://www.goodreads.com/genres/rein...

Now to find one that isn't a picture book. Also, is genre still first page or MPG?

message 761: by M (new)

M Beal | 1680 comments Our word is Reindeer!? Going to find all the E books I can.

message 762: by M (new)

M Beal | 1680 comments For Reindeer as a genre, check the alternate genre list that was posted.

message 763: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4247 comments The Reindeer People: Living with Animals and Spirits in Siberia - This book works for genre, cover and title. Anyone else want to read it with me?

message 764: by M (new)

M Beal | 1680 comments That looks really interesting Lexi, I am going to hunt a copy down.

Can't get that one, but I can read The Reindeer People for title.

I'm happy about this call. I've been putting aside E and I books all week.

I think you captains are doing a great job. I personally like everything in one thread because then I only have to read one thread. :D

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments For our Reindeer week I'll read Espresso Tales and Everything Is Illuminated for the obvious E. And some other surprises, too...

Espresso Tales (44 Scotland Street, #2) by Alexander McCall Smith Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer

I'm almost done with this week's books. I probably won't get much reading done today, but I'm off tomorrow. Yaaayyy!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my USA teammies and happy Thursday to all those in other countries!

I think my favourite of his was Beartown followed by “My grandmother asked me to tell you I’m sorry”. It’s not often I find an author I love so much - especially when it’s translated work. So massive kudos to the translator too!

message 779: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes for sure! I've read the two you mentioned and A Man Called Ove. Wow I don't even know which I like best - loved all three. And they are all so different too.

Update

We just completed our 7th readthrough! :)

So far there are 35 books read which is our lowest yet, but we are reading longer books so our points for the week is currently 1175 which is higher than we had for week 1.
I wonder if we can squeeze a few more books in there before the deadline? We have about 18 hours! xD
