Hi Vick. iHope to see you back later this month! I am starting to think of books, but nothing set enough to list. I too might wing it.

I have been so slammed with work. My school is all online and my students are 7-8 years old so it makes it very, very difficult.
I decided I am going to try to participate though! So now I am going to get into the planning stages.
Thanks for asking!

Glad to hear that Anne. I am not a regular reader of graphic novels, but they are great for combating fatigue.

Do we start at 5 AM?
So agree that short stories and other short works are good options for a readathon. So good choices. See you tomorrow!

10-24-20
Reading from San Diego, CA - start time 5am
Let the reading begin!"
A little less than 10 hours to go!
My start time is 2pm, should be sleeping right now but my body decided to wake up at 3am. Been awake for 1.5 hours now. Going to have a hard time staying awake this evening...
Happy reading Vicki!

Patricia, glad you could use it. I think it is the teacher in me! Lol

Oh my, yes, you definitely should. Hope you can get some hours of good sleep. See you in a bit!

Here we go!
Sprint #1

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
San Diego, CA
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
The Push
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Funyuns!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am a teacher and online learning is HARD, so I am looking forward to me time and being selfish today!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Have a more relaxed approach. Not worry about hitting all the social media options. Doing more reading.

I read a good amount and enjoyed all of my books
2. Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
My strategy was not to worry about it. Enjoy the day. Sleep if I need to sleep. Yes, I missed the whole end, but I had a great time.
3. What was your favorite snack?
Funyuns
4. Wanna volunteer for our next event?
Yes!

Nice Vicki!
Reminds me, I have to check my bingo!

See you in April!
Vickie your appreciation of Book Love makes me think to reread--during a readathon. Perfect, like Susan says.
I was wow-ed by the long short story of John Grisham. That story was from Ford County short stories. Are there--please may there be--more short stories of Grisham that you know of? New tradition: one Grisham short story a readathon so that I will have stories to read for a while.

Great job, Vicki! How are you liking

I read one short story and it was great because then I finished something.

I thought I hadn't read this author before, but then I realized she wrote The Woman in Cabin 10 which I have read.
Vicki Willis wrote: "Cynda, I not familiar with that book (series?). Are all the stories in an anthology or ?
I read one short story and it was great because then I finished something."
hehe Appreciate the feeling of accomplishment too. I read from a collection put out by John Grisham, not an omnibus, a regular collection.
(there are at least 2 other covers.
And I just saw this
Which has the Ford County stories plus extras.
I read the first story "Blood Drive" uses country hick stereotypes. I do not know if that would offend you, but if it doesn't, you might enjoy. Same storyteller telling about country hicks. The story took me not into just one loop but multiple. Seems the stories are might be connected. Seven stories total. I reccommend.

Are you gearing up for this readathon? I am trying to finish the book I am currently reading so that I can pick some interesting ones to jump into.

Not this time.
My brother is getting married -postponed from a year ago - and I am helping my sister in law with the day.
How abt you? Getting ready?

I will give it the old college try again. The grocery list is starting to grow. Firstly, snacks - then something easy to throw into the slow cooker.
Hope you have a great time at your brother's wedding.
