SOLVED. crime solver old school shooter down south [s]

Some type of ex-cop is hired to go down south to solve a mystery. Outside of the town he has to take a boat to the final destination of this 'secret' town; controlled by some guy. He comes back/returns with about 1/2 dozen of his older former shooting buddies to kill all the bad guys and unlock the secret. Each of the good guy crew specializes in a certain type of gun (hand gun, sniper, rifle, etc).

He makes contact with a local but the bad guy captures him, tortures the local contact. Before the bad guy kills him he yells something like "the pale horse rider, pale rider (?) is coming for you. Die mother f$$$er.

At the end, some building on the back of the property where the bad guys lives burns down.

I read it maybe 5 years ago. Book is prob +10 years ago. Guessing is kinda like a James Patterson. Book has one main character - some ex-cop, ex-CIA type. He's hired to "go to this town" (maybe a couple of hour boat ride outside of New Orleans (?). Once the boatman drops him off he's having second thoughts...like he's stuck now.

The crew he comes back with are old...well into their 60s.

The local bad guy finds out a local dude makes contact with the good guys, he gets tortured (hung up with his arms tied behind his back). Knowing he's about to die, he starts to laugh / chuckle saying the horse rider? pale rider? pale horse rider? (the main character) is coming to get him (the main bad guy).

Right before the local contact dies he screams out to the main bad guy "die mother f$$$er"
