Welcome to the group! I'm really excited to start doing buddy reads, games, and challenges but first I thought it would be a good idea if everyone got to know each other. So feel free to introduce yourself! Your age, interests, favorite/least favorite genres, your country, books your looking most forward to finally reading, etc. Whatever you want :) I'll go first!

My name is Kayla and I'm 20 years old, almost 21 (in December!). I'm absolutely rubbish at getting to my TBR pile. More specifically classics and books with a lot of hype. My favorite genres has to be romance, historical fiction, fantasy, and contemporary. I'm not a huge fan of horror books but I'm trying to change that. I'm really excited for this book and I hope all of us procrastinators can tackle a few books (and get one step closer to reaching our reading challenge for the year).

Kayla | 3 comments Hello! My name is also Kayla. I live in the USA and always have too many books I want to read but never actually READ. Ugh.

I have a lot of opinions about what I read and I really like sharing my opinions (probably too much)

I really want to make some online friends that share my interests.
Peace out, I guess.

Aurora | 7 comments Hello! My name’s Aurora. I’m 15 years old and I live in Canada. I enjoy reading fantasy and thriller books most but I do branch out. Trying to start reading some classics. I usually read like 10 books at once because I just put some off and don’t pick them back up for months. Anyways. All my reviews suck so be warned. Bye

dezzy (thethoughtfulvoice) | 11 comments Hi everyone! :) I'm Dezzy, I live in the US, and I'm in my last year of high school. My favorite genres to read are contemporary and romance, and my least favorite genres are historical fiction (with a few exceptions, like The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue) and thriller/horror. I love reading and making new friends! 💕 And I'm definitely a huge procrastinator haha, so this club is perfect for me. Excited to interact with you all!

✨faith✨trust✨pixiedust✨ Dead Account; Not Coming Back (faithm99) Hi! I'm Faith from Seattle in the USA. I read mostly fantasy and science fiction, but I like darker contemporary too (nothing fluffy lol). I primarily read YA but I'm branching out more now that I'm technically supposed to be an adult lol. I want to use this group to read all those books I didn't read that everyone else did from around 2005 to 2016 lol because I didn't really get super into reading until last year.

Aloha, I’m Nova! I live in Hawaii right now, and I’m super excited to get to know everyone :)
I love books, obviously. I’ve been known as a book hoarder recently, courtesy of my habit of buying more books than I can read. My favorite genres are probably anything YA, Realistic fiction, Dystopian, Paranormal, and Romance.

message 17: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyyx) Hi everyone! I’m Becky from the UK, I’m 24 (only recently so sounds weird saying that 😂).
I didn’t get to read much during my college & university years from taking on too many commitments there 😂 so I missed out on quite a few series! I’m also just always behind on hyped books 🙈

My favourite genre would have to be fantasy! I mainly read YA but I do branch into adult fantasy series too. I love reading retellings mainly, but I’m quite happy delving into many genres! Really I just love a great story, it can be fantasy, mystery, romance - whatever really I’m willing to try it! 😁
One genre I am afraid of trying though is horror for sure - don’t want those sleepless nights 😂

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and enjoy this group!

message 18: by Julio (new)

Julio Bonilla My name is Julio, 35. I am Peruvian/Salvadoran, and I live in San Francisco, Ca. I’m single. My favorite genres to read include history, self-help, graphic novels...

Books I hope to read this year for the Reading Challenge are on my bookshelf. I hope to replace most of them with Wonder Woman graphic novels, books 📚 about DC Comics’ history. 😏

lyss ʚ♡ɞ .°₊ (poisnivys) hello! i'm alyssa, but you can call me lyss. i'm 18 and from the US (california to be exact). i enjoy reading romance, contemporaries, and have just started getting into fantasy so i need to check out more of those books! i'm looking forward to talking with you guys and reading more! btw, i just got into writing reviews so mine need some work, but feel free to friend me if you'd like!

excited to (attempt) to tackle everything i still haven’t (raven cycle, the cruel prince, the list can go on lmao)

message 21: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (audjvoss12) | 7 comments Hi, I'm Audrey. I'm 24, and I live in California. I have a 3yo son, so I read a lot of children's books, but I love to read a broad range of genres from classics to horror. I am a recent psychology grad, so anything about biology or mental health or spirituality is also fascinating to me.

message 22: by Monica (last edited Sep 19, 2018 06:17PM) (new)

Monica | 1 comments Hello all! My name is Monica, I am 23 years old. I love yoga, vegan food, crystals, and other things that are meant to bring a bit of happiness to your life. My favorite genre is self-help/spiritual and my least favorite is probably sci-fi. I say that because I've never actually read a sci-fi book (so maybe I'm pre-judging) but the concept of it doesn't interest me. I didn't even enjoy ET the movie. I'm from California, USA and I can't wait to one day say that I've read the Harry Potter books but I HAVE NOT. Not one. Only a few weeks ago did I watch the movies. I am late in the game.

message 23: by Breanna (new)

Breanna (twofreetacos) Hi! I am Breanna. I am 19 years old and a business student studying business finance, banking and financial markets, and investment and portfolio management. I am currently trying to read as much as I can since it is my break from my busy schedule. I am mainly doing audiobooks since I can listen while I work at one of my jobs. I currently am trying to broaden out of YA books since I haven't been interested in a majority of them in awhile.

message 24: by Emmy (new)

Emmy (emmmmychan) hey everyone I am Emily. I am 22 years old and I work in the fashion industry. I currently read as much as possible, about 1 to 2 books per week, but I am trying to branch out to different genres besides YA. I have currently been getting into new adult, and just adult in general books.

I do have a youtube if you'd like to check that out as well :). I host a giveaway like every other week for no reason besides sharing my love of books with others.

message 28: by Marti (new)

Marti | 16 comments Hello everyone! My name is Marti, I'm Italian and I'm currently living in Panama. Other than reading, I love to write and watch T.V. I go to the movies at least once a week.
I like almost every genre, as long as the book is a good one. I almost never read the blurb of a book, mostly guide myself on my friend's opinions. I used to finish every book I started even if I was hating it, but that is changing recently because I have little time to read and I want to use it wisely. I love Goodreads almost as much as I love reading and often spend more time here than actually reading. Since there are not many bookstores here in Panama, every time I go to the US or to Italy I fill my bags with books (it is an actual mental condition, I am physically unable to control myself. Just last week I was in Miami for a week, and I went to the Barnes and Noble closer to me EVERY single day. I ended up buying 15 books that week. The booksellers were starting to look at me like I was insane).
Anyway, I hope you all keep writing about yourselves because it's really nice to meet you all!

Praveen (praveen_7557) Hey everyone. I am Praveen, I am from India. I am currently in the middle of Malazan Book of the Fallen. But I have Stormlight Archives in my tbr from last 1 year. I am excited to read that and I haven't read that much of YA books, So I think I will try that.

message 30: by Jojo (new)

Jojo (twigzies) Hi! My name's Josi and I'm 20 years old! I live in germany on the days I have uni classes and in switzerland on the days I don't haha.

I mostly read ya contemporay, I love some diversity. (lgbt, mental health...whatever just give it to me haha) and ya fantasy but rarely high fantasy bc it's just not something i seem to be able to get into. I also enjoy some adult fiction from time to time and even a thriller once in a while.

I have a serious book buying problem, I buy more than I can read and end up unhauling a bunch of unread books bc I lost interest in them.

When I'm not reading (or at uni) I'm most likely watching some TV series or a movie bc that's what love most besides reading.

I'm really excited for this group! Reading the description I was like "yea that's me" and I'm also looking forward to get to know you guys!

I mostly read YA, Fantasy, NA - well you can just check out my shelves on GR :3

Kairia My name is also Kayla (there's so many of us!) but you can call me by my username. I'm twenty-four years old and live in the United States. My non-reading hobbies include playing video games and finding new music to listen to. I will give any book a try but I have a soft spot for fantasy.

I have two cats named Grimm and Lilly. They like to lay with me while I'm reading.

Tales_Corner | 9 comments Hi all! Wow, so many Kaylas here - beautiful name by the way :D.
I am Isabel (or Isa, if you want), 31 years old and from Germany. I live with my Boyfriend and our two cats (Dexter and Peach) in Hamburg.
I have a massive amount of books on my TBR, because I love to buy books xD. I have also lot of unread books in english.
I love to read fantasy, scifi, thriller and contemporary stuff and I like to try other genres. I also love to read comics and mangas or listen to audio books.
I only wish I had more time for all the great books around me xD. I have way to many hobbies aside of reading, like playing games (PC, console, board games), watching movies and series, doing creative stuff (especially in my Hobonichi :D). So, there is not much time left at all but I love doing all these things.
This group will be a lot of fun, i think and I'm really looking forward to be active here and read more of my english books finally.

oh yes, it's very beautiful here and i totally like the weather here (often stormy, rainy and grey :D).

I like high fantasy, urban / dark fantasy, sometimes ya fantasy - I think, I like almost all kinds of fantasy :D. But I don't like extrem kitschy storys, with brainless girls who only yearn for the asshole male protagonists (I have to roll my eyes the whole time while reading then xD.)

One of my all time favorite fantasy books is btw: The Name of the Wind from Patrick Rothfuss. I hope the third Book will be released someday.

— nova (belaslugosi) | 10 comments Hello everyone 👋🏼 I’m Nova and I’m 26. I live in the United States. I love to read (of course) and write, but I tend to watch YouTube videos and play the Sims 4 more than I do any actual reading and writing. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

I love all genres. My favorite books are the ones that stop on my emotions and leave me feeling wrecked. I’m looking forward to finally tackling the dozens of books I own and still haven’t read!

Jamie (The Kansan Reader) (thekansanreader) Hi, my name is Jamie. I live in South Central Kansas, USA. I own two dogs (Oakley and Trixie) and a kitten (Thor). I am engaged. I read, draw, paint and play video games in my spare time. I work at an rv dealership that I'm busy at during the summer but once fall and winter hit it slows down enough I can read at work.

I also hike and kayak with my fiance Wy and our buddy Rosh. I can read about any genre. I am a mood reader and right now my mood has been fantasy and reverse harems.

Hope to get to know you all soon.

I hope we enjoy our time together in this group and get to read great books

happy reading everyone :)

⋆˚࿔ myth 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ (themythicalreader) Hi! My name is Julie and I live in PR. I’m in my first year of college and I’m majoring in English. My dream is to become an editor. I’m 17 years old and my favorite genre is fantasy. I’m not much of a critical reader when I don’t have to be. I like what I like because it made me feel good or because I loved the story or the characters or simply because it made me feel good. I get more critical with the books I don’t like as we all do, but for the most part I’m pretty chill about it.

Hmm, I don’t know what else to say tbh.

PS: I curse like a sailor so I’m sorry. I try to keep it to a minimum when I’m typing, but sometimes I can’t help it 🙊

message 47: by Amy Leigh (new)

Amy Leigh (xxamyleighxx) | 1 comments Hi I'm 33 yrs old & I live in the United States. I live with my fiancé and our 7 1/2 week old kitten Luna. I read a lot but I have a bad habit of starting series & not finishing them and I'm guilty of buying lots of books I haven't read. I do spend most of my time reading though but I'm mainly a mood reader. Which leads to procrastination lol. I was recently in a review slump for a few months and I feel like I'm finally getting out of that! ♥️ My fiancé is new to Goodreads & I just got him back into reading last year (his mom is a retired librarian- how could he not read? 😂) and he mainly listens to audiobooks & reads pretty much anything I recommend to him. He has been fussing at ME to read Throne of Glass! I read the first one and stopped to catch up on NetGalley books and now he is about to be ahead of me in the Red Queen series as well 😑. We are both gamers too, I like mobile and console (mainly Xbox) games. My favorite genres are YA, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Paranormal/Horror, Thriller/Mystery, Historical Fiction, Contemporary, Romance but I prefer the ya or rom com type over the smutty kind. My least favorite genres are memoirs, self help, etc. I do read outside my comfort zone though and I'm excited to be here & make new friends! I also keep the Harry Potter movies on my tv on a kind of perpetual loop bc they always put me in a good mood and reading with them in the background is the best mood music. :D

message 48: by thelittlestpickle (last edited Sep 20, 2018 08:05AM) (new)

thelittlestpickle Hi hi! I'm Danielle (but I like going by Ellie) and I live in Colorado. I'm 24 and work full time, which I use as an excuse for my ever-growing TBR pile. I tend to end up re-reading series like TRC, Six of Crows, and Harry Potter because I have the e-books and can read them while I'm on conference calls lmao but it makes me sad that I don't get to all the awesome novels I want to read.

I like sushi, kangaroos rats, and the sky. I'm a sucker for a good slow burn relationship, and I'm an intersectional feminist :)

My favorite genre is probably fantasy, and I LOVE reading dystopian novels (so feel free to pass along any recommendations!). I guess I have kind of high standards or something, and tend to get bummed out by over-hyped books when I finally get to them
