For you, I picked (with a lot of hard decisions being made cuz they all sounded so good): The Winter Spirit by Indra Vaughn and Omega Mine Search for a Soul Mate by Halsey Harlow . Unfortunately, all the M/M I read (and write) is Supernatural fanfiction, so I searched Amazon for something that sounded good. Werewolves count as paranormal, right? Breeding Rights by Preston Walker sounded really freaking interesting to me, and hopefully it will to you too (and if you end up reading it, please lemme know if it's worth the price). Enjoy. ^_^

Thanks Jammin Jenny for my DB picks, I’ve already read and reviews both the bonus books you chose a few years ago. One I loved, the other I didn’t like that much. Choosing my own bonus book defeats the purpose of a recommendation so I’ll just ride my my regular picks

No worries, I know how that temporarily out of internet thing goes, so you have my deepest sympathies. And thanks for the picks. The bonus one sounds really interesting, and I'm scrounging around to find it (my library only has it as an e-audiobook, and my ADHD doesn't give me any concentration with those).

message 78: by VampAmber (last edited Oct 06, 2018 08:50PM) (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Just finished my first book for the month, Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting by David Reed . Going in, I knew I'd love it (cuz fangirl), but it actually ended up being better than I expected. I love his character on the show, so getting to find out a ton of backstory was great. It even solved a few mysteries the show never bothered to explain, so yays! Thanks, ☘KathyD☘.

Now here's hoping I can make it at least most of the way through my other pick. I completely forgot that American Gods (American Gods #1) by Neil Gaiman was almost 600 pages. O_O

message 79: by Brigia (new)

Brigia | 141 comments I finished my first book: The Late Show (Renée Ballard, #1; Harry Bosch Universe, #29) by Michael Connelly - I loved it!!! It turned out to be a really well-written mystery with a great MC. I'm definitely going to stick to this series! Thanks for picking it, Karen!

I finished Truly Madly Guilty just now. Really enjoyed it! Unexpected plot twists and narration from several points of view. I will read more by Liane Moriarty.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished reading Midnight Jewel (The Glittering Court, #2) by Richelle Mead Midnight Jewel. It was interesting reading the story of The Glittering Court from another character’s point of view but I wish I had read it closer to when I read The Glittering Court as I feel like I had forgotten some of the mysterious events from that book that this book explains. But I’m still glad that I read it.

message 84: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (tellingmelies) | 540 comments Finished both of my picks:
99 Days by Katie Cotugno & Boys, Girls and Other Hazardous Materials by Rosalind Wiseman

Both were high school contemporaries and were easy reads. I didn't love them but I did like that the MC's were both flawed and in the case of 99 Days, not really likable. Glad I got to check them off the to-read list!

Anyone know when the Nov Dusty Bookshelf opens?

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1919 comments Finished both of my books and I liked both of them.
The Winter Spirit by Indra Vaughn Omega Mine Search for a Soul Mate by Halsey Harlow

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 417 comments I finished both my books! I almost never do that!

Born a Crime Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah - 5 stars
Hardcore Twenty-Four (Stephanie Plum, #24) by Janet Evanovich - 4 stars

I'm glad you enjoyed them! I didn't get around to reading The Storm Sister (The Seven Sisters #2) by Lucinda Riley , but I started Blindsighted (Grant County, #1) by Karin Slaughter on audio and really like it so far. The Late Show (Renée Ballard, #1; Harry Bosch Universe, #29) by Michael Connelly , as I said above, was an instant favorite!

message 90: by lorii (Loriidae) (new)

lorii (Loriidae) | 826 comments I read Edge of Oblivion (Night Prowler, #2) by J.T. Geissinger the last of my October picks. It has been on my shelf for a long time - perfect candidate for Dusty Bookshelf. I had read the first in the series and it was a bit hmm, ok, not bad, but with some potential, hence book #2 languished. I am pleased to report that I really enjoyed #2, there were a few of those convenient powers that we only find out about when they are needed in a life or death situation... but there was enouugh there to give it 4 stars and continue with the series.

I have been looking at that series for awhile

message 92: by lorii (Loriidae) (new)

lorii (Loriidae) | 826 comments This series is 2013, so it is her earlier writing. It is written in third person. Her newest series - Slow Burn is contemporary and is present tense, which I struggle with.
