Hi Oscar, here are two threads you may be interested in contributing to:
Artifical Intelligence (AI) https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Hi,
I didn't know about this group until just now and I've been on Goodreads forever!
Conspiracy theories. Yes. The first one that interested me was the one surrounding the death of Marilyn Monroe. I was in the 9th grade when I read this book (I would love it someone could tell me who wrote it) written in the style of a peeping-tom's diary. The young man apparently kept a detailed account of what was going on in her bedroom right until the time of her death and for a little while after as the investigation was on. (By the way I am a straight woman, so it was just the conspiracy that interested me)
Since then I've read everything about Monroe and everybody associated with her.
Years later, when I moved to America, I found the History Channel. That is just a wonderful place to find out hidden truths that you know exist out there. I am however on the other side of the spectrum of gullible. I watch to dispel - not inflame.
Currently reading up everything on Artificial Intelligence. Here is something interesting - "Twelve Ways AI Will Transform Health Care"

Welcome Joanie - and check out our Mysterious Deaths thread at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... if you haven't already. You'll see Marilyn features.

I've been interested in topics like this for a long time now. Usually writing essays and articles in politics, religion, pseudoscience and Woo-Woo. Lover of all things Fortean. Some non-fiction work can be seen at SKEPTIC magazine, American Atheists magazine and Free Inquiry magazine. Also writes on politics at the blog, Freedom Cocktail.
I also published my first novel about a year ago, "Three Condoms for Sarah" and am working on my second which involves UFOs, trying to create a new fiction on a most familiar subject.
Here's is my Goodreads author page:

Looking forward to some recommended reading and discussion on the topics listed above.

Eric

Hey Kumar - Here's to an exciting journey unfolding.

I am an avid reader of the Fortean Times, I find the British wit very dry yet with subtle grassy undertones.

My name is Nihar Suthar and I am a recent graduate from Cornell University, where I studied economics and management. I'm quite fascinated by behavioral economics, and specifically the motivations behind why humans make the decisions they do. I think I'll have a lot of fun in this group with the topics that are discussed! Looking forward to it :)

Welcome back Jeanne.

Good to have you back Jeannie. And thanks for 're-friending' me!

my book is UTMOST LOVE: DARK & LIGHT-SHADE EMOTIONS - A ROMANTIC STORY.
THANK YOU

Ps: English is my second

Thanks for the invite.
This is a group with quite diverse interests.
I guess I fit in under the "Bible" discussions. It is amusing to see a continuing discussion on the originality of the Bible. My research and writing concerns the forgotten knowledge of the Sumerians and Ancient Egyptians who predated Christianity by thousands of years and can still be found in surviving writings. Remember that Moses is said to have originated from Egypt so it should not be surprising that much of the ancient Egyptian knowledge made its way into the derivative beliefs of the Jews and Christians.
My book Awakening Higher Consciousness: Guidance from Ancient Egypt and Sumer (http://awhico.com) provides insights into the not- so-lost knowledge.
Cheers,
Paul Boudreau

Good luck with your writing Adrian.

Hi Paul - The Biblical discussion threads are of interest to many in this group so your feedback is welcomed.

This book throws light on the life of a girl. Just one incident was enough to bring a notable change in her life...something she had never thought of. Living happily with her family & friends and satisfied with even a small part of happiness that surrounded her, little did she know that something else awaited her. Struck with sudden pain and turmoil, her entire identity and quality of life changed. Through this book I have tried to describe the agony and the immense disappointment felt by the girl towards the society. The book talks about society's take on morality issues, their blind beliefs and biases, all of which proved to be detrimental for the girl. It goes on to prove that how a tragedy which is unasked for, changes the way of how people treat the girl with a new identity. The most promising part of the book is where the girl refuses to accept this identity and fights back. Her struggles and untiring efforts to change the conventional mind set is bound to set an example for everyone. What really makes the difference is the understanding that there are different degrees of success which ultimately lead to success.

I can't read stuff like that, too deep. I worked with rape victims and those that were in slave traffic market and it breaks my heart. I was just the nurse not the counselor, thank goodness. I couldn't keep a dry eye when I was with them. Sometimes they would cry and I would cry with them. I thought at first they would hate that but they didn't. We bonded well...

My interests are quite eclectic, and I am the type of person who loves to devour anything I can get my hands on -- and then consider and reflect what I just learned. I tend to gravitate towards the metaphysical, UFO, paranormal, US History, and fringe science. As I scrolled through the list of current topics, I was excited to see that many of them are ones that I have researched in the past. I was also very excited to see topics that were completely brand new.

Hi Ashley :-)

Jessi, big picture is always a welcome view - thinking about effect not just what we want.
