Review:
Asha Grant survived BeiTech's initial assualt on Kerenza IV and has been part of a tiny, hopelessly outmanned and outgunned resistance cell ever since. But as the BeiTech troops are counting down the days until they're able to leave, she is under no illusions about what this means for the remaining survivors on Kerenza. Their time is running out fast, and the resistance will need every tool at its disposal to have even the slightest sliver of a chance. In walks Rhys Lindstrom: Once, in another lifetime, he was Asha's boyfriend. Now, he's wearing a BeiTech uniform. He could be the one thing that might give the Kerenza survivors a fighting chance - or he might doom them all.
Meanwhile, the survivors from the Hypatia and Heimdall Station have taken over the state-of-the-art gunship Mao and are on their way back to Kerenza - but resources are running low, there might be a mutiny brewing, and letting AIDAN loose in the Mao's systems could exact a heavy price long before they reach their destination. Even if they do, chances of survival for anyone on board are slim to none.

HOLY FUCKING HELL. Much like with the first two books, I had a lot of moments during this one that saw me just blindly staring at the page I just read, going back to re-read it, and all the while wondering Did that seriously just happen, because WTF?!?. I'm a total wreck now. In all the best of ways. This trilogy is made of sheer and total awesomeness, with a generous share of WTF moments, gut punches, emotions running high, and seriously epic twists. In short, the whole thing is just glorious, brilliant, and one of a kind amazing. If you haven't read it, what the hell are you waiting for?

Review: When Felicity left Prescott, MT, 16 years ago, Silas was devastated. He'd always loved her, but she ended up with his friend, Wes. Now Wes is dead, and Felicity is back home. The two start hanging out and rekindle their friendship. Silas wants it to be more, but he worried that Felicity will always love Wes. And Felicity can't understand why Silas is taking things so slow. This book was just okay for me. I didn't like Felicity - her temper and her mouth were unattractive and, although she was trying to do better, it was still a struggle for her. I did like Silas, but after reading the book I still feel like I don't know him very well. This book seemed more of a set-up for future books, rather than it's own story.

Review:
It has been a while since I finished book 2 so it took a chapter or two until I remembered what happened last. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Poor Eden tries everything to save the people she cares about. In book 1, I really liked Kiran. Book 2, I was shocked at Kiran's behavior. In this book, I downright dislike him and his manipulative ways. I have been rooting for Eden to win and although she finally saved her brother, the cost was her life. To live with the man you despise to save everyone you care about is hard. I can't wait to read book 4 and I hope it has better results for Eden and her friends/family.

Review:

I listened to the audiobook version of the book and I have to say Johanna Parker never disappoints she is a perfect Sookie and definitely brings the character to life. I won't lie this isn't my favourite book in the series there is a lot going on and nothing nice at that, apart from Sookie possibly finding out more about her past.

In this book the Shifters reveal themselves to the world which seems to cause more confusion that the vampires did. The book is also filled with Faries, evil ones that cause murder and mayhem.....I kind of prefer the live at the bottom of your garden types :) must be my Irish blood.

As in every book the Bill/Sookie, Eric/Sookie vibe is strong. It still amazes me that she has feelings for Bill after everything he has done to betray her but, don't get me started.

Review: Once again the plot twists just keep on coming. Although this one was a little bit more predictable, I still enjoyed it! I was glad that everything worked out with Reed and he didn’t have to go to gaol. I feel that there could be some more plot twists to come (cough cough Easton could be Steve’s son? My guess). I felt so sorry for Callum in this book, particularly when he found out about Maria and Steve. These books are totally like crack, I need more!

God I love these guys and their motley crew. I want to be Lucy Satan. She may be my favorite person of all time. Jackson seemed to open up and lay himself out their a little more in this one and talking to the Rabbi was just perfect. I do wish we could get more of a story with these books instead of constant hospital scenes and fighting bad guys but I'll read about them no matter what. Also loved the addition of Ace and Sonny. I had to go back and look their book up to remember more about them but after that, I got it. Love them too. So much goodness packed in one series. Not sure who's going to almost die in the next one but you can bet I'll be finding out when it comes out. Love these!!

Review: Maybe it’s because I moved away from Chicago so this is bringing up lots of nostalgia, but I enjoyed this way more than I expected. The first 2 were fine, but didn’t really grip me. This one seemed to have lots more going on. Merit has lots to juggle and the world is facing a looming crisis. Seeing how all these characters try to navigate their challenges was awesome. I definitely am looking forward to reading more in this series now.

Wow! What a roller coaster ride this series has been. In book 1, I loved reading about Eden & Kiran's budding romance. In book 2, I was shocked at the betrayal. The man was totally clueless why she was hurt so bad. Book 3, Kiran was a total jerk and was easily manipulated by his father. I didn't like him at all in that book. In this final book, Kiran redeemed himself. I loved reading about Eden finally forgiving him. Then the two of them worked together to finally overthrow his psycho father. I loved the ending. It was the perfect ending to the series. I am sad that it is over but I loved the wild ride!

Review:
Being Best Man at the wedding of one of his closest friends and dodging his infuriating ex at the same time should occupy pretty much all of Damon's attention, but the bride's intriguing photographer friend is impossible to ignore. Alarik is captivated by Damon right from the start and determined to go after what he wants. It seems to be working, and the two of soon turn mutual interest and attraction into dating into the beginning of a relationship - until tragedy strikes, and their happy ending seems all but unreachable all of a sudden.

I'm a little conflicted about this book. I did enjoy it more and find it less frustrating all in all than the first two in the series, but the third book is still hands down my favourite. This one was twice as long as the series opener, and it felt like it - not necessarily in the best way, as it did seem to drag a bit in places. It's half following up on Zane and Mark from book two, half Damon and Alarik (and am I the only TVD fan who very much enjoys a couple with those names?). Now, I know it's not nice to commit acts of violence against injured people, but damn did I want to punch Damon during much of the second half of the book... but all's well that ends well, I guess. I do wonder how come the author never continued this series, she was clearly setting up another book for Max, but it's been five years since this one was released and there's been nothing since. Shame, because I really liked Max and would've loved to see him find a HEA...

I know I've tried to read this one before but just couldn't get into it for some reason and just gave up. I was determined to really read it this time and I'm so glad I did. It did take me a while to warm up to Robbie and Cy (not sure why) but I eventually got there. Robbie is all kinds of screwed up from his cowardly behavior towards Adam (from book 1) when they were in the military so he's having a hard time just being himself (gay). His parents remind me of my mom's side of the family. Nice enough people but so backward and conservative it's freaky and they really don't see the problem. Cy's mom was fantastic and I wish we would've seen how his nana would have reacted to Robbie. Probably not well. Once I warmed up to these two, I really enjoyed their story and was so happy we got a good dose of Adam and Finn in this one. They're still my favorite couple by far. I'm going to miss these guys!

I know it is a few weeks away... but I will need someone else to track books read & roll during the week of November 11th. I may or may not have time to read that week either. My son's marine graduation is on the 16th so I will be traveling part of the week and involved in Family day & Graduation day events the other days.
Unless the stars align in my favor, I probably won't be able to read that week. I can roll on the 9th before we leave but I will need someone to track the progress for the week, roll & post our spot on the 16th. I will be back on Sunday the 18th.

Loved the vibrancy of this book cover which made me pick it up and start reading. The old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" is very true with this one, the book was just ok for me!
It would seem Hazel and Josh have known each other since college, they are reunited when Hazel's bff turns out to be Josh's sister. The book it quite funny as Hazel is a say what you think kind of girl and gets herself into endless awkward and embarrassing situations. but I just found the story a little too tame.

Review: Chase Hartman has had a crush on pop singer Jordyn Banks. One night while watching the LA hockey team playing on TV, Chase and Jordyn start flirting with each other on Twitter. The online flirting progresses until the two finally meet. And for Chase, it's the Best Date Ever. Jordyn thinks so too, but she lives in Los Angeles and Chase is in Chicago and they both have busy schedules - there's no way they could have more. Then Jordyn is forced to rest and comes to Chicago, and she and Chase pick things up again. But Chase is having his own problems with a less than stellar year on the ice and some health issues of his own. I enjoyed this book, but I was a bit skeptical about both of their health issues - with their positions it seems like they both would have sought help sooner. But, it was nice to see Chase get his girl and I really liked Jordyn.

Review: Meh. Serviceable sex scenes and a fun man on the run plot line kept it interesting but the plot and characters are so bland that the whole series just runs together in my mind. Granted it’s been awhile since I read book 3, but I started this going “Which one is Rock again?” Loved the jungle setting - very Romancing the Stone - but the heroine’s helplessness just made me eyeroll. Vanessa was boring and a bit TSTL for me. This series had so much promise at the start but each book drives me further away. I think I’m officially done here.

Review:
Lucas and Andrei's long-awaited wedding is only two more weeks away, but their preparations are interrupted by someone from Lucas's past showing up out of the blue in need of his help. Despite his misgivings and the terrible timing, Lucas and Snow set out for the small Oklahoma town they grew up in and never intended to set foot in again. Between stopping a killer and facing the families they'd been staying far away from for good reason for the past two decades, they have a lot to keep them busy and not much time to accomplish it in, because there's no way Lucas won't be back in time to say "I do".

What can I say? I just love these characters and their relationships with every fibre of my being, and this was yet another book of start-to-finish perfection which, between all the feels and the mindblowingly hot sex, has absolutely turned my brain to mush in all the best ways. I was thrilled to see this series continue after the initial four books - and am even more so to learn that there's still more to come.

I'll admit that this is not my favorite type of romance to read. The kind that takes place over many many years and we're with them through all of it. I prefer to read just a couple of chapters of the past then the rest in current times. That said, I did enjoy their journey even though I didn't always understand how they did it. This one had me weepy several times but ultimately ended up just where we wanted it to.
