This is an emotional roller coaster of a read as we follow Harley as she tries to earn the right to wear the colours of her father's club. Harley has multiple personality disorder and the story is told through the eyes of Harley and Farah. The author has done a great job of embracing this mental illness and shown a true understanding of the pressure that people with mental illnesses undergo each day and the fear that this illness can instill. Definitely an author I will revisit.

This is the 2nd in the new series of The Edge from the creators of the world of Kate Daniels. It's been a while since I read the first instalment in this series but it didn't take long to be immersed in the world of the Edgers. The storyline was full of twists and turns and high intensity action. It was amusing to see Cerise's family play matchmaker in both subtle and not so subtle ways whilst preparing for battle. My only disappointment was in the final chapter's when Cerise's father is rescued, I would have liked a bit more depth here but nonetheless I will continue with this series to see where it leads.

This audiobook was one of my favorite all year. The sounds for Kate and Curran's son were my absolute favorite thing to hear. I won't say anything about what happened other than Kate, Curran and the gang again united for face a great danger. There was a come to Jesus moment with Hugh. I just don't buy Hugh as a good guy but hey, the author is trying around to redeem him.
This book had everything I love about this series, humor, fighting, snarky remarks, love, family and power hungry Roland.
Another great installment but the growling, baby words by Conlan made me smile EVERYTIME

Review: I consider this series one of my second tier series -- I like them, but get them from the library rather than spending the money to keep them forever. And this one is the same. It's nice, the leads were likeable, and the HEA was easy to see. The plot in this one was a little crazy -- there was a lot happening, but it was often offscreen, so I had trouble figuring out where it was actually going. It will be nice to see Tiger in the future books though -- he has some interesting talents.

Aisling drove me crazy with sometimes, especially when she said “It’s time for walkies”. Don’t know why, and maybe it was popular slang in 2004, I just don’t remember it. I also didn’t like how she was working against Drake and avoiding him instead of giving him a chance, though in her defense, he did make it hard with saying as little as possible. I guess what really irritated me was that she doubted him when it seemed like she gave others the benefit of the doubt. Due to her ignorance of the paranormal world she became a part of, she was easily manipulated by others who wished to eliminate Drake and gain power. At least she was able to figure out what was going on and how to fix it so the killer would have expose herself. I wish she would have accepted Drake as her mate. Since there are four books in the series, I guess the author is going to just take her sweet time with Aisling accepting Drake.

This was a collection of short stories by differing authors surrounding school with a paranormal element, This was an enjoyable collection and a quick read. It was good to have a taste of different series and there are some series I may try based on the short stories.
• Playing Possum - Set in the World of Sookie Stackhouse we see Sookie attend an open day at her nephew's school. Hunter shares Sookie's telepathy gift, when the school secretary's ex attacks the school, Sookie and Hunter use their gift to overcome the attacker.
• Spellcaster - this was a very odd story about a group of college students who unwittingly unleash a demon during a demonstration of spell & mythology. The story builds layer upon layer with the twist coming as the demon explains how non-believers set him free.
• Academy Field Trip - This was the author's first venture into Paranormal and it was a good story. Set during a week long course at Law academy we follow one student and instructor on the trail of a vampire who has been leaving his victims to die. The scene building was good and the twist was unexpected. I would like to read more from this author.
• Sympathy For The Bones - Told from the POV of Clora we are taken through a tale of witchcraft and voodoo. The author created a tale of diversion, that when the ending comes out of the blue, the clues were already there. Definitely want to read more by this author especially during the winter nights.
• Low School - This was probably my least favourite of the stories, having been tricked by the devil Amy is forced to relive high school, facing all her worst nightmares. Think Groundhog Day in hell.
• Callie Meet Happy - Callie during a remedial wormhole class inadvertently finds herself trapped in another dimension when she calls up a wormhole to take her someplace happy. Callie lands in a desolate place where she meets Agatha and Happy who have been invited to Count Orlov's mansion but everything is not as it seems.
• Iphigenia in Aulis - This was one of my favourites and I would like to read more by this author. Set in a world where a virus has wiped out the majority of the population we meet Melanie a child who lives in a cell on an army base. Told from Melanie's POV we are given an insight into this limited world from a childlike perspective. When the virus threatens to overrun the base the children are evacuated bar Melanie and it is not until the end we discover why.
• Golden Delicious - Set in the skinwalker series we follow Rick and the rest of his PsyLed team as they try to become agents and graduate spook school. I loved the interaction between the team as they try to discover who is trying to get Rick kicked out and why. I'll definitely pick up more of this series.
• Magic Tests
Set in the world of Kate Daniels we follow Julie as she is tasked with trying to find a missing student. I love the Kate Daniels series and this look into Julie's world as she navigates the school system and forges friendship didn't disappoint.
• An Introduction to Jewish Myth and Mysticism - This read more like a ghost story as a lecturer tells the story of the Wondering Jew. A good story with a suitable twist at the end, which isn't quite spelled out.
• VSI - Claire is a forensics officer who is recruited to VSI to set up a sting to bring down a serial killer, her husband, who happens to e a vampire. The beginning was promising but it seemed to lose pace towards the end. With a bit more tweaking this potentially be a good series.
• The Bad Hour. Set within the Fallen series we meet Remy and his Labrador Marlowe as they attend obedience school to flush out the culprit behind the happenings at the school. I loved the interaction between Remy and Marlowe and the conversation that they had between them. Definitely want to read more about this delightful duo.
• Pirate Dave and the Captain's Ghost
On attending a seminar Joyce meets Captan Bob and Angie where although looks okay from the outside, everything is not as it seems. This was quite predictable and I worked out the twis about 3/4 of the way through. Overall this was a decent tale

It took me awhile to get into this story because I didn’t remember the specifics. I wish that authors would do some recap in the beginning if a new book just to remind the reader of plot thus far.
I was happy that we finally got to learn what was going on with Forge.
Forge and Hope happened a bit quicker than i would have liked but their chemistry was fire. The Irish Water dragon was definitely a good match for Hope, who was no stranger to loss. I was most intrigued by Ivan who was showing signings of not being a complete evil villain and that the author was laying the foundation for redemption.
I liked this addition to the series and hope there is more to come.

I have to listen to it though. I I love Ilona Andrew's work, their writing is always top notch! Are you reading it now too?
Already read it Ezi, thinking about re-reading it now the pb has come :DI loved it!! Catalina was great, Nevada as bridezilla didn't ring quite true but I know some women do turn into that so I just went with it.
I thought it was funny because you wouldn't expect it from her. I've heard heard horror stories about normally grounded women wanting ridiculous things and not wanting to compromise at all.

I CANNOT believe Nevada as a bridezilla. I won’t. Anyone who can love Mad Rogan can’t also be acting crazy. Nope! 👎🏾. She’s too level headed and thoughtful for that

This was the fourth in the Immortal Descendents series and continues shortly on from Changing Nature. Seth Walters is kidnapping mixed bloods and trying to overthrow the Council. Whilst Archer, Logan, Connor and Arman go in search of the missing mixed-bloods Saira and Ringo go back to 1944 London to find Tom Landers and prevent a time split. This story is full of twists and turns and we see how the actions of Saira in the past unlocks Archers memories. This book also ends with a cliffhanger that I wasn't expecting. This is a great series that encapsulates the trials of love and loss with a little history thrown in.

Review: I liked this one, but it felt a little too derivative of the BDB for me to LIKE it. The slang, the world building, the brand dropping all struck me as ridiculous without the strong plot of Ward to make me want to look past it. Also the MCs were such a small part of what happened in this book that I didn't really buy the HEA, which is a killer for PNR. Probably I'll continue with the series the next time I need a dragon book for a challenge.
I will be reading my book UF Monday night to Tuesday. With the 3 day weekend, I haven't wanted to start it and get annoyed with being interrupted a book I have been looking forward to reading.

There are very few series where vampires are just all bad and corrupt. This is one of those where I just don’t see how they can be redeemed.
Quinn Lennox has always had weird things happening to her like seeing portals or her eyes/hair glowing etc. Quinn has been tested for almost every disease and there seemed to be nothing physically wrong with her.
One day Quinn and her brother are sucked into a parallel world where vampires are at the top of the food chain and that’s when Quinn learned that her dreams weren’t a figment of her imagination.
In this parallel world, humans are auctioned for the pleasure and servitude of the vampire and Quinn was purchased by Arturo Mazza, a vampire whose feeds on fear. It was confusing for me at first to decided where Arturo's loyalty lay. He seemed to feel something for Quinn, but his master wanted Quinn for her dormant magically powers, so whenever there was any issues, Arturo never stood up for her.
I came to hate the vampires because they reveled in their power over humans and abused them mercilessly. It was disturbing and I found myself rooting for a rebellion to kill the vampires.
In the end, Quinn and her brother were able to escape back to Washington DC and away from the vampires with the help of Arturo. But the last few paragraphs let the readers know that all wasn't what it seemed. Arturo isn't all that he seems. After this book, I don't think I can ever trust the vampires. They enjoy feeding off people's misery way too much. But I will continue reading because I am hoping the humans will crush the vampires.

Review: I'm one of the few people who actually like the non- Elena and Raphael books in this series better, and this one was no exception. Holly was tough, but still goofy in her way and a great match for Venom who I don't really think I knew beyond a big bad vampire that had freaky eyes prior to this book. The big bad drama was interesting, although I have to admit that the ending and resolution of the issue was a little too easy in my opinion.
