Romance-Hiding from abusive husband-name changed to Sugar?

About three years ago, I read a romance novel in which the woman was hiding from an abusive husband. She started going by the name Sugar or Honey... something that wasn’t “serious” and represented who she wanted to become. She began a relationship with a man who fought against her because he thought she wasn’t serious enough for him. Of course, when he found out her situation he stepped up. I want to say this was part of a billionaire family series, but I’m not positive. Anybody know??

I believe it is set in the South. The main male character is some type of investigator. It is a romance with some suspense. Heroine and hero don’t like each other at first. Or at least he doesn’t like her. He thinks she is flighty/flaky.
