That's a great idea. I have lots of anthologies collecting dust because I don't have a strategy for tackling them. I like this idea of reading just a few at a time.

What I can do, a strategy for me, is review the story(s) that I just read, and then edit the review next time I read from the book.

Thank you!

Pat the Book Goblin Its been sporadic for me. The last three years were really busy so 2016 was only 12, 2017 was 60, but this year I've read about 175 so far.

Dave (davedough) I'm a pretty slow reader. The only time I really give myself to digest a book is at night before I go to bed or, like now, when I travel for business and I need to keep myself busy in a hotel or on a plane. My average per year is about 12, depending on how interesting the book is. I can either devour one or if the book becomes a slog, I tend to be a little slower. I have a bad habit of not abandoning books even if I'm not enjoying them. (I'm looking at you Annihilation!)

Trike According to my GR stats since 2010, I’m averaging 67.7 books a year, including this year so far.

Caveat: that includes graphic novels, photo and art books. If I just do “real books”, it’s probably closer to 40.

Anomaly years: 2012 had 28 books (18 real) while 2017 had 103 (53 real).
