Love Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice was my favorite up until my mid 20's. I found as I got older I appreciated Persuasion more. The Janeites book sounds interesting.
Just finished The Greatest Knight. I really enjoyed it.
Halfway through TimeRiders. Solid YA story so far.

TimeRiders was great. Good YA read.
I also finished The Case of the Missing Marquess
which was recommended to me. This book is also YA. It was an easy read and very enjoyable.

Finished Royal Inheritance late last night. It was a solid OK for me. Very factual. I felt educated more than entertained afterwards, if that makes any sense.
Started Red Rising

Started Red Rising

I've read Night Fall. Best book this year, bar none. I've read Plum Island and Lion's Game. I'll read Wild Fire soon.

Stayed up late reading Red Rising. This book pleasantly surprised me. I have to admit, it's more brutal than most dystopian novels. Yet extremely well done. I liked the depth of the story, unusual for this genre. 4.5 read for me.

I have the first book in this series to read at home.

I really enjoyed the first one!

I'm interested to know how well the narrator does with this one.
Finished The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway very early this morning. Good writing, but definitely does not make me want to see a bull fight. Interestingly enough, last Sunday's movie on MeTV was Columbo: A Matter of Honor, about a Mexican matador. Serendipity?
Read a short story by Jodi Picoult this morning, Where There's Smoke. First time I've read anything by her. It was okay, though the ending was a bit abrupt and left me wanting to know more about how events tied together.
Now starting: Daring to Dream by Nora Roberts, last of the June group reads. Will probably go right into the July NR group read, Holding the Dream when done. I have another NR group read for July as well, The Pagan Stone.
I'm not doing the classic group read for July, The Bell Jar, as I do not have the book and am undecided about another group's 3rd quarter group read, Emma by Jane Austin. Not my favorite Austin, though I love the movie Clueless, which is based on the novel. Granted I haven't read it since high school, and I do have the book, but still... Will have to see how the rest of the summer goes.

I completely agree with you about Emma (and Clueless), but I agreed to do a group read of it this week with a BookLikes friend (she's never read it before). I have only ever listened to it on audio, so I thought I'd give it another chance by actually reading the book. We'll see.
Sounds like you've got a lot on your reading plate at the moment, but you are more than welcome to join us if you'd like. :)

Jennifer: Thanks for the invite, but I know I won't get to Emma anytime soon if I do decide to reread it. I have three months for the quarterly group read, so I'm not too worried about it.
Have heard a lot about the new Molly Harper book, glad it did not disappoint you! ☺

Let me know how many stars you rate it.

That one looks really good Melissa. I added it to my list.
I just started The Beekeeper's Apprentice. You'll excuse me if in my mind I hear Benedict Cumberbatch every time Holmes opens his mouth.

I am about 50 pages in and it is pretty good so far. I have had The Beekeeper's Apprentice for a while but haven't gotten around to reading it yet, I hope to read it soon.

Absolutely excused! :) I loved BeeKeeper's Apprentice and I'm really enjoying the rest of her series (I'm currently listening to all of them on audio).
If you decide you want to continue with the series, I'm going to make a suggestion: make the second book you read O Jerusalem, NOT A Monstrous Regiment of Women. O Jerusalem takes place inside the time frame of Beekeeper's Apprentice (it will make sense as you get further along in the read), and Monstrous Regiment takes place afterward. OJ is listed as the 5th book, but it's been driving me crazy because it all takes place before books 2-4 - and a LOT happens in 2-4 that I now have to remind myself hasn't happened yet in OJ!
:)

I am enjoying this book so I will definitely keep that in mind.
I'm curious as to why the author chose to write the stories that way. Thanks for saving me the headache!

The first 5 books in the series are good. The latest, seventh one is very poor, although that's just a guess.

I enjoy this series but think the audiobook is the way to go with it because the narrator does an awesome Oberon - hope it is as good in print (unless you are listening to it :)

They are hard to beat for interesting and a spiritually mature take on historical fiction.
