At last! Today I finally got back to reading George R.R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons. It was almost exactly one year ago that I finished reading A Feast for Crows.
Reading Andrea Kane's Scent of Danger today. I'd read it in Spanish, but I'm in the mood to read it again, now in English.
I like to read action books when I'm not reading cozies. I like Clive Cussler's Oregon Files and James Patterson's Michael Bennett series. I have recently started reading W. E. B. Griffin's Presidential Agent series; it's pretty good, I think.

I'm 100 pages intoInferno
so far I'm really enjoying it. I notice that it has gotten some not so great reviews, but I find it is moving at a fast pace, as his other books did.
I am reading The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø (my first by him) and listening to The Red and the Black on audiobook...
I am reading Blossom Street Brides by Debbie Macomber. I've read the entire series and was looking forward to the new one.
Started The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown over the weekend, and am about halfway through it. It started out a bit slow, but has really picked up the pace.
Just finished Cinder
on audio. I really enjoyed it. I read the first couple of chapters and then bought the audio book for my commute. I enjoyed reading vs listening to this one. So I will read the sequels. I already picked up Scarlet from the library on Saturday to continue the series.

It may be because I've got a huge soft spot for geeks, but absolutely loved The Rosie Project
by Graeme Simsion. A light, touching, funny and totally adorable read.

Inferno is really good too. Hard to put down. I was sitting at Easter dinner wisiting with family wondering how soon I could read again...I'm bad, I know....
Debbie: Hehe...I often feel the same way when pressed to spend too much time with family. I hope to get both Inferno and The House of Hades next time I see my sister.
I am listening to The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line
and I love it so far. Kristen Bell is a great narrator!

I'm excited to start Scarlet this weekend. :-)I heard Cress was amazing. Really looking forward to it.

Loved A Dance with Dragons but I am glad to move on to a much shorter lighter read, Paisley Mischief.
Just finished The Witness. The premise was nice but the love story I found tedious and boring and the resolution of the MC problem wasn't that suspenseful to me. Bit of a disappointment.
I'm 2/3 of the way through Orphan Train
and am enjoying it. It's an easy read and about a subject I know little about.

I just started The Witness last night, read a quarter of the book (basically the first part, "Elizabeth") before forcing myself to turn off the light and get some sleep.

@ Heather L
I liked the first part! Wasn't it exciting? And then right there, after Elizabeth, is where it kinda lost me. :-/ I'm curious to see how you like it. I was in a bad mood reading it and was using it to distract myself from something. I wonder how much moods affect our view of what we read... Anywho - looking forward to your review! :)

Finished Paisley Mischief which was a very quick read, lite and funny. I'm about 50 pages in on a mystery (not a cozy) The Bone Seeker: An Edie Kiglatuk Mystery which is very good.

The first part was definitely good, especially leading up to and directly after the part where she becomes "the witness." And her mother...! Which made the way that section ended even more heart-breaking. I'm now a bit more than a third into it, not quite the halfway point - but probably will be before I go to bed tonight, LOL.

I just bought
by Goodreads author E. Michael Helms. I haven't started it yet. It's about the Marines and Vietnam. My husband went through Parris Island in 1967 and then to Vietnam from there. I am really looking forward to reading this book and sharing it with husband. It's top on my TBR pile now.
Deadly TiesI just finished Deadly Ties by Susan Holmes. It's got everything from mystery and suspense to dogs and training said dogs. It really held my interest and I can't wait for her next book. The ending had me on the edge of my seat.
I have read several books I'd never look at if they weren't my book club selections, and that includes my current read,
by Hampton Sides. I'm learning a great deal about this event in our country's history, and some of it is very sad. I'm admiring Sides's gift as a writer.

I'm in the middle of reading The Goldfinch. Such a powerful book. I take breaks every couple chapters because I find myself too emotionally wound up by I'm reading. Tartt's writing is wonderful!
Just finished Orphan Train. I really enjoyed this book. I recommend it.

I enjoy any of Carla Neggers mystery/romance books. She creates very likable characters as well as great mysteries. Although I am not a romance reader, I love her books. Another romance author, Debbie Macomber, writes great stories that stay with you after you've finished the book.
I am reading Fatal Remedies by Donna Leon. I believe it is the 8th mystery in the Commissario Brunetti series. Her writing is excellent.
I just finished Mad About the Boy
. I started this book with an attitude. I heard what happened through a news article of all things and said I would never read it being I loved the fist two so much. I think I picked it up to test how bad it really was. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it for what it was and laughed often. So if you are a fan of the series, have misgivings and want to give it a shot, you may like it. I was definitely surprised I did.

I've got an ARC of Shield of Winter
and I'm enjoying A LOT, although I have to read it in my tablet.

I am trying to finish The Red Hot Fix
T.E. Woods The suspense is great I need to take breaks. Like Police Procedural and suspense this is great. I would suggest reading the Fixer
the first in the series
Christina ~ I finished reading The Witness yesterday and thought it was good. While I liked the first part best, especially as far as the suspense went, I had no problems with the second or third part. I thought the romance progressed at a reasonable pace, and that Brooks did a good job wearing down her defenses, getting her to open up and trust someone. I liked Brooks' mother, but have no love for Elizabeth/Abigail's.

@Heather L
I loved Brooks' mother too! Matter of fact, I think I put that in one of my updates. The love story through fell flat for me. :-/ And I agree, Elizabeth's mother had a chip missing. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Just finished The Confession. Defintely a recommend. I was riveted.

I have started
Just One Evil Act. Her books are getting longer and longer! When I finish that, I'll go back to a couple of cozies.
Heather & al. Re: The Witness. I prefer the other Nora Roberts books that I have read. I gave it two stars.I didn't write a review with this one so can't really remember why I didn't like it so much.
Probably I was comparing it to the last book I had read by her which I absolutely loved. I believe it was called The Searcher & I learned a lot about training dogs from reading it. Everything, from plot to characters, was better in The Searcher I thought.
Jamie Lynn wrote: "I'm listening to The Lovely Bones.Wow! It's really good!"I loved the book, but was very disappointed in the movie. Too bad they couldn't have presented it in the same way the book did.
