When you're not reading a cozy....

It's a commitment, that's for sure. Plus, it's a heavy book to have to handle. This is one novel that would be a definite advantage to read in e-form or audio.
Just started Scandal Sheet by Gemma Halliday, which has just been nominated for a RITA. Sort of a chic lit mystery.

One of my VERY favorite series. Can't wait for

Currently reading Mad, Bad and Blonde by Cathie Linz. Pretty good so far. Have a couple of cozies waiting when I am done.

I really liked that one, Susie. I got to read an ARC late last year and it made my top reads for 2009. But then it's good we don't all like the same books or a lot of authors wouldn't sell any books!

Is the little girl (Susie) the narrator?

Heidi, I just saw a Book TV interview with the author of that book (she was at the Virginia Festival of the Book). She made it sound really interesting, from both the scientific point of view and the personal. I'll have to look for it.

It certainly is good! All of us authors would either starve or be stuck with writing the same kind of book instead of the one that's bubbling inside us. I don't know which would be worse! :-)

I enjoyed Oryx & Crake so much that I wanted to continue in their universe. That happens a lot with me. :-)

Kaye: I just picked up Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen at a library book sale -- glad to hear her books are good!

It's not your traditional mystery, and not cozy, but I just finished the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. It's got romance, supernatural creatures, but it's shelved with mystery books as there is always something going on in each book to be solved. Very good series!!

I always love my yearly visit with Spenser. I'm going to be so sad when all the ones RBP had in the pipeline before he died are all exhausted.

Enjoy! Garden Spells is excellent. I'll be interested to see what you think. her characters are so unique.

I am so behind in this series. I've got them around here and should catchup. Konrath himself is a kick! Really funny guy!

I haven't. For some reason I just don't get interested in blogs. I might check his out, tho. I've had the chance to spend a bit of time around him at a couple of B'cons and he's just a riot.

Me too Melodie!...and I'm quickly catching up ;(

He seems like he would be a riot. I would love to meet him someday. I know he used to live in Hoffman Estates not sure if he still does. But that is the next town over.

My next uncozy will be The Hope of Refu..."</i>
Have you read [book:Hide In Plain Sight? She writes Amish mysteries/ romance type. An excellent read if you haven't. If you have a kindle I believe it's still free.

Oh, A DIRTY JOB is a hoot!! But then I'm partial to Christopher Moore!

Heidi, this is a great book! I've read the first 4 or 5 in this series and then for some reason I got bored with it. I keep meaning to go back to it and read the rest, but the first book is wonderful.
