On Kindle I'm reading Asylum which I thought would be heavy going but definitely is not and 44 Scotland Street which is different.

Since I write cozy, King is a nice change. He's moved away from his early horror style, and this book is an intriguing "what if?" time travel story. At over 800 pages, it should keep me occupied for a while!

I read this back in January, Mary Ellen, and LOVED it! It'll definitely be on my Top Reads list for this year. Not to offer a spoiler or anything, but the ending was not typical King. GREAT book!
I posted a freebie cozy on my blog yesterday...what was it...Nearly...no wait.

There was also A Bad Spell in Yurt which I really liked--it's cozy fantasy.
Meanwhile, I've been reading Frank Tuttle's Markhat stories (cozy urban fantasy. Maybe a little darker than cozy, but nothing too scary. I love them.)
I'm also about to start Patricia Briggs' latest.
OH-if you like cozy fantasy: Unicorn on Speed Dial was a great read!!!

Good to know, Melodie - thanks! In the meantime, I'm not rushing to get to the end but savoring each chapter.

      I've just read Discount Armageddon
and I've enjoyed it a lot. Light fantasy with an humor I can relate, a lot of action and some nice characters. I'm looking forward for the next one... next year :(

Finished Agnes Grey before bed last night and quite liked it, though the children in it are absolute horrors.

Finished Haunted Ground last night and liked it a lot, especially the Ireland setting. Good mystery and good characters!

Finished reading A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott this morning. This was a lot different from the Alcott books most of us grew up on--an adult thriller featuring deceipt, betrayal and a pretty scary stalker. It started out a bit slow, but then stayed up late last night trying to finish it (got within three chapters of the end before calling it quits). I liked it, but had a difficult time rating it. In the end I gave it a three, since we can't do 3.5 and it wasn't quite a four for me.

I'm currently reading The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen. Not that far into yet, but so far it is quite good!

Only 16 pages to go on Big Easy and I finished Chill Waters this morning. Both are very good thriller/murder books. I'm starting A Death at the North Pole.

Okay, I finished A Death at the North Pole, strange book. I'm also reading another strange one, The Long Midnight Of Barney Thomson and also Wild & Steamy which hopefully is exactly what the three novellas are. I just need a change. LOL

Finished Saving Ruth: A Novel last night. It's a quick read. Good read, well done although the ending was just a little too neat and tidy for the circumstances.

That sounds like a good one. I love good setting descriptions woven into the story.
