Stephanie Finally reading The Pillars of the Earth (The Pillars of the Earth, #1) by Ken Follett as a buddy read in one of the groups I moderate. It has been on my TBR for a long time, and I really like it so far. I was reading it in trade paperback, but the version I have is FREAKISHLY heavy, so I switched to ePub!

Chrystle Fiedler (wwwgoodreadscomchrystle_fiedler) | 18 comments I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I didn't like the violence against women and animals - this is a big reason why I like the comfort of cozies - but the writing was terrific. Not sure if I'll see the movie or not...

message 2161: by Linda (new)

Linda I've just started reading a psychological tale of suspense titled The Enemy We Know A Letty Whittaker 12 Step Mystery (Volume 1) by Donna White Glaser . Liking it very much so far, but need to get further into it.

message 2162: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) I'm reading a book about spirituality and the bible, Things Hidden Scripture as Spirituality by Richard Rohr and a bleakly beautiful book, Christ Stopped at Eboli The Story of a Year by Carlo Levi .

message 2163: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to start Love Finds You in Homestead, Iowa this evening.

message 2164: by Donna (new)

Donna | 27 comments I'm almost finished reading Mr. Darcy's Bite Mr. Darcy's Bite by Mary Lydon Simonsen . I'm enjoying it.

message 2165: by Erin L (new)

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 505 comments I haven't read many cozies at all lately. Over the holidays I followed up Anansi Boys with Neverwhere to catch up on my Neil Gaiman reading. Only one left on that TBR pile. I like his writing, but some of these books take a bit to get into.

In keeping with the fantasy genre, I then read Changes which had such a jaw dropping conclusion I had to borrow Ghost Story from the library. I mean, you can't just END a book that way! I am really enjoying Ghost Story and I'm sad I'll have to wait a bit for the next book.

CHANGES really was a game changer, wasn't it?? And GHOST STORY was, too.

message 2167: by Erin L (new)

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 505 comments Changes was definitely full of changes. I loved it. Ghost story is good too, but not quite as packed full of action and adrenaline as the other books in the series. Not done yet, but I'm pretty sure I know what's going to happen.

I liked the introspective & soul-searching Harry in GHOST STORY. I was pretty sure what was going to happen in it, but I got a twist on what I was expecting!

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 505 comments Huge twist when I found out whodunnit.

message 2170: by Karen M (new)

Karen M | 1436 comments Started Paradise Valley by W. Dale Cramer. I thought it would a typical Amish story but this one is about a family who relocate to Mexico from Ohio so they can raise their children without interference from the State government.

message 2176: by [deleted user] (new)

I need to hit the book store so I dug through some books I bought at the last sale the library had of used books. I'm reading an oldie (and so far, a goodie) that's more romantic suspense, Wicked Widow.

message 2177: by Karen M (new)

Karen M | 1436 comments I love mysteries and thrillers and classics but lately I'm reading lighter books:

Paradise Valley and A Home For Christmas

Both nice and it's hard to decide which one to read.

Karen M | 1436 comments I am about 1/3 of the way into On Berryhill Road which was a free Kindle download. So far it's a nice story and I can see where it going but it's interesting enough that I want to know how the story goes. Maybe I'll be surprised.

Karen M | 1436 comments Started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society last night. I have read almost half the book and I'm also reading two other books at the same time so you can tell I have fallen in love with this book. It reminds me (the way it's written) of Daddy Long Legs and my favorite, 84, Charing Cross Road. Makes me want to read both of these again.
